Just downloaded an ad blocker app for the phone. Let’s see if it works. Because this is extremely annoying.
One of the sites ads you click on likely installed ad-ware. You may want to consider a google search on how to remove it.Well. That didn’t work. This is bullshit.
It’s on my phone. Not my computer. It’s all the same ads. Brides, AFF, FB dating, etc. All the ones others are getting. One of the sites ads you click on likely installed ad-ware. You may want to consider a google search on how to remove it.
I have no pop ups on my browser. Duck Duck Go
I use Duck Duck Go on my up-to-date iPhone and still get the pop-ups.One of the sites ads you click on likely installed ad-ware. You may want to consider a google search on how to remove it.

We are currently testing various new methods of increasing revenue to the forums. One method we are testing are pop up ads from various vendors. We will test different versions of pop ups, and if we choose to go that route, will pick one that is the least intrusive. Ideally a pop up that appears only ONCE PER VISIT. Why ?Is this as simple as a new ad revenue for terb?
If so congrats. You'll lose members.
Mods must know. We're listening

Pretty simple, we havnt raised rates on our advertisers for almost 5 years now and as of matter of fact have just recently lowered our advertising rates for certain segments. This will especially help the many Indies out there right now who are struggling to get by. Finding additional revenue in other areas will allow us to continue doing so.
Our ultimate goal, and main reason why we are doing this is to provide a FREE advertising platform for all independent ladies nation wide. In our humble opinion, there is no better way of growing the forum than allowing as many ladies as possible to advertise and participate here for free. All this just for the simple inconvenience of closing a pop up. Something that takes a fraction of a second to do.
We have had pop up ads here before, and not only did we not lose any members because of it, it was quite the opposite. We still had a steady stream of new members.
If this experiment works out, we will find the least intrusive method possible. If it doesnt work out to our liking, we will scrap the idea. This is just a test.
Makes total sense. It is a pain but I get it. If it helps generate income, I’ll deal. Testing new things is always good. That should never stop. That is what keeps business fresh.
Less would be best and I do like that it doesn’t take me to the pop up page itself, instead it keeps me on TERB. So if I have to close some extra background tabs, I’ll will. Somewhat begrudgingly. Like pout face style, not full on foot stomp. LOL.
This was actually my concern, enough so that I stopped logging in from my phone (where I was getting the popups) the last couple of days. I might be more comfortable with it now. Some will think there’s a virus associated with Terb if a pop up ad happens.

Fair enough if this is the route the site decides to go for revenue.
I'm just one data point, but I will mention it is slightly more cumbersome for me than just closing the pop-up, because it also seems to screw with my browser history and consequently makes it a bit more awkward to navigate the site.
If you aren’t getting a pop up on Chrome, doesn’t that mean the plan isn’t working? Pop ups are good, right?Like i said this will be a work in progress. We will fix all glitches as they are noticed. For example i use Chrome on my desk top and have never had one pop up. If we are not happy with how things play out, we will not go forward.
lol thats correct. like i said. glitchesIf you aren’t getting a pop up on Chrome, doesn’t that mean the plan isn’t working? Pop ups are good, right?
Real ads OK (e.g., Ashley Madison and Sugar Babies), but the ones I have seen pop up are unambiguously for scam sites filled with malware. Some will think there’s a virus associated with Terb if a pop up ad happens. Not a smart move in my opinion.
