Why do providers feel the need to post their politics upfront in their advertising. I went to look at the Angel's touch schedule and the are offering a discount to the trucker convoy. From where I stand this is a super divisive. By offering a discount, they are pretty much aligning themselves with the anti vaxxers crowd and are now choosing to alienate the pro vaccine crowd.

I suppose there's always the possibility that they're hoping to attract a critical thinking crowd. Many vaccinated people are not in favour of mandates/passports/lockdowns and a bunch of them are driving trucks to Ottawa. Applying your super divisive read on a nuanced position maybe isn't the way to go.

Not sure, why do johns feel the need to post their politics on an escort review board?

There is literally a section on politics on this board. I would say that it is encouraged. But for companies to do that, they are likely using politics to make money. All the power to them I say, but they also can create negative consequences for themselves too if their prospective clientele disagrees with their public statements. The fact that we are talking about their statement is proof it works to some extent, but whether or not the impact is positive or negative has yet to be seen.

For purely selfish reasons, I hope AT/PS makes a bunch of money from this, and the girls all stay healthy (im gonna assume a % of the people who are going to get the discount are unvaxxed + the out of towners might bring uh other stuff as well )

So move this thread to the politics section...

Personally, I think it's disgusting, especially considering the industry they're in. It was one thing to see the odd attendant supporting antivax rhetoric, but to see the spa itself embrace something like this shows how low they are. Maybe the next promotion can be built around how HPV isn't as spreadable or serious as you think!

SWers are business people and the the spa owners are also business people. I hope they all make a ton of cash this weekend from the "convention" and that the spas are packed. They've had multiple shut downs and none of them have the cushy benefits of the public service or high tech. There's a lot of money on the table this weekend, go get it ladies!

It's weird to frame this example as the "providers posting their politics."

It's on the spa's website. That means it's the owner's politics or the management team's politics. I can guarantee you the providers who work there were not polled for a consensus on the issue.

I agree. But I agree with OP as well. It's extremely short sighted. I wasn't going to that place anyways, but if I were, I definitely wouldn't be now. They can let the plague rats spread that stuff around but count me out.
You see, this is why nobody is going to convince anyone on the other side about the validity of their arguments. When you're going around calling the other side plague rats, the dialogue is already over.
To me, it was a no-brainer to get the vaccine shots, so I got them for myself. But we were told early on that once we achieve something like 60-70% compliance, then we would have herd immunity, and we'd be protecting even the non-vaccinated from getting infected. We've gone way beyond that, it's something like 80-90% compliance in Canada, so why the hate for the non-vaccinated? Nobody required 100% compliance.

I concede the point that the example that I was referring to here was the business owner and is not reflective of the individuals who work there. I was using the term provider in reference to the business in this case. There are a number of ads on LL that have the same type of comments. To me it is really short sighted to pander to a group who are likely going to cause local issues and then be gone. Not a great business plan. I was something of a regular, but this leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Given their apparent views on personal liberties over basic public health requirements, I feel my money would be spent elsewhere.

LOL, speaking of short sighted. Your views toward what's going on are extremely short sighted. The Freedom Rally is not just about the vaccine mandate, it's about what has happened to people due to unlogical government decisions over the past two years: people losing their business, people losing their life savings, people losing family/friends to suicide, people losing family/friends to drug overdose, the suffering of children in multiple ways, domestic abuse, etc.

I am personally pissed at the unvaccinated who keep clogging up the ICUs and hospitals. I have been waiting for over a year for diagnostics/surgery due to previous lung damage from a previous H1N1 infection. I keep getting cancelled because the 10% unvaccinated are taking up more than half of the ICU space.

I just hope that all of these 'critical thinkers' have signed DNRs and DNIs so they don't clog up the hospitals. I doubt it though, to me the unvaccinated are just selfish and really don't care about anyone but themselves.

You should join the rally since you are so pissed. The problem is not the unvaccinated, the problem is our health care system. Vaccinating the remaining 10% will not solve our health care system problems now or in the future. Covid has just shown how bad our health care system is. There are lots of people supporting the rally for the exact reason that makes you pissed. A mother was shown holding a sign when the rally drove by...her one year old has not been able to receive proper health care during the past two years.

Nope, that's a separate issue.

The unvaccinated are also an issue.

Let's not pretend that purposefully choosing not to get vaccinated is anything else besides pure selfishness.

Yes there's lots of problems with the health care system and the government, but that's not related to people choosing to not get vaccinated. They can have overlapping issues, sure, but it's not the same thing.

If this rally is pretending to be both a freedom rally and a protest against the government/the healthcare system, then it sounds like even they don't know what really fighting for at the end of the day.

Maybe the truckers aren't getting enough sex, and thats why they are so grumpy.
So in that respect, the spa is just trying to do a public service

Unvaccinated are barely an issue, currently they are 2,732 patients in Ontario hospitals with/due to covid. 706 are unvaccinated, representing 26%. Even if 50% of that 706 wouldn't be in the hospital if they were vaxxed up...we'd still have 2,379 patients in hospital...sounds like a fragile healthcare system. Getting vaccinated is the right thing to do no doubt, however recent studies of millions and millions of people in the States of NY and California have scientifically proved that having had covid provides the exact same amount of protection as being fully vaxxed, hence any of the unvaxxed who have already had covid do not need the vax.
