Police Shakedown?

Chief Fantino has suspended several officers alleging that they have been extorting money from "Toronto night clubs" for advance notice of pending inspections.

Is it just me or does this sound like strip clubs? Has anyone heard anything? They are trying to keep a tight lid on this, but apparently there has also been extortion of sexual favours - reportedly from prostitutes.

I wonder when and if the deatils will be forthcoming. Any thoughts?

The shakedown occurred in the entertainment area and there are no strip joints there. Just regular bars.
They were paid to look the other way regarding
liquor and lineup violations.
Read: underage and overcrowding.

One of the officers likes Transvestites so he got freebies in exchange for him/her/it to be left alone.

This is all alleged of course.
