There's a moral dilemma for you. If she turns out to be the girl at the door, you pretty much have to go through with it then alert the authorities afterwards. Otherwise you might spook her handlers by bailing out, or she might tell them if you try to help her and she's doesn't want to be helped.

Either way they'd move her before anyone could get there.

You could use one of a few excuses if you recognize her, then call law enforcement as soon as you are a safe distance away.

- You do not resemble your photos
- I think I have the wrong room

Most hotels require a legit credit card and verified ID, so remember the room number when calling the police and hopefully they can use the room number to trace the person who paid for it or their licence plate number.

If you call within 15 minutes of seeing her at the door or in the room, her captor won't have much time to move her elsewhere.

I apologize to everyone that my phrasing was poorly chosen and triggering. It would have been better written as "does the harm of staying, then calling for help afterwards, outweigh the risk of tipping off her pimp and her being moved?"

My original hypothesis was that staying was less harmful. Thanks to those who pointed out that making an excuse at the door does not not present much, if any, risk of tipping off the pimp, that hypothesis has been proven wrong.

Fake IDs aren't hard to get, especially when they only need to get past a front desk clerk who doesn't give a shit.

I've heard from several girls that unless you are in a no name roadside motel, you need a real card. Prepaid Visa or Visa Debit aren't even accepted. Apparently the solution (we're talking legit independents here) is to get the first customer to put the room on their card and trade for the room fee.

Ya know what they don’t want? Guests staying in their rooms that will:
- Cause property damage
- Run an illegal business out of their rooms

To ensure they have some security, they will take the necessary steps to avoid that Therefore, some form of ID & safety deposit/card is taken prior to handing over the keys in case shit hits the fan they have some security. I am sure you can get away with this in hourly motels/roadside motels that don’t care & have questionable cleaning practices but definitely not at a hotel or reputable establishment. This is the Rule in any country with the exception of some 3rd world countries. I know this as I am writing this in my 4th checked-in hotel on my vacation.
