She is believed to be the victim of human trafficking. She is well known and well liked in the community. She went missing over a month ago and no one has any answers. If you have seen her or know anything please contact the Port Hope Police.

Its better to ask for forgiveness than permission but the people on this platform have a much better chance of seeing her if she's in this situation.

There's a moral dilemma for you. If she turns out to be the girl at the door, you pretty much have to go through with it then alert the authorities afterwards. Otherwise you might spook her handlers by bailing out, or she might tell them if you try to help her and she's doesn't want to be helped.

Either way they'd move her before anyone could get there.

What a strange way to say you would actively exploit someone knowing whats going on. Just say you wouldnt care either way if you knew it was happening. The callousness of your comment tells me you wouldnt tell anyone and you would sleep like a baby knowing you got yours and thats all that matters.

That comment was very "im teetering on the verge of being a sex offender"

First of all, you don't know me, so kindly stop putting words in my mouth, and fuck off with the character assassination.

I posted this as a moral dilemma. With any luck, it might start a respectful conversation here where we collectively come up with some better ideas. So yes, I do care what's going on, thank you very much.

If I were to meet this girl in a motel, I only see 4 courses of action, and in my opinion that one that offers the best chance of rescuing this girl is to stay.

1. Call 911 right then and there. Extremely dangerous if there's a pimp nearby who can overhear, or if the girl doesn't want to be rescued.
2. Bail out. Safe, but possibly the pimp sees this, gets spooked, moves the girl before you have a chance to call the cops.
3. Stay in the room with your clothes on tell her you'll get help when you leave. Possibly she's afraid to be rescued (blackmail, Stockholm syndrome, whatever.) You leave, she runs before help can get to her. Or she calls for her pimp to save her from you.
4. You do what you came for. Maybe you are a good enough actor to fake a failure to perform, or a sudden remorse about cheating on your wife, but still be cautious of #3. You leave, she stays, and you can get her help from a safe distance.

So, what have I missed? What's your plan?

As a survivor of human trafficking you are a legitimate and total dumbass. If you went "through with it" you will be charged with rape as she is being held against her will and you are having sex with someone being forced to have sex for money. Doesnt matter if you knew or not. It's funny how this needs to be explained to a grown ass man. They get her phone from the pimp go down the list of guys who seen her trafficked. Minor not not. You now face rape charges. You would think this would deter men with careers and wives and children on the line from hooking up with spinner young leolist party girl randoms at sketchy motels but people with one brain cell left dangling off the edge of your already empty skull such as yourself still exist apparently

Do you need help figuring out how to put a condom on too properly buddy?

Yet another one who didn't answer the question, and completely misses the point of a thought exercise.

You say you've been there. So,

WHAT'S
YOUR
PLAN?

Your plan should be to not be a scumbag say you left your wallet in the car and anonymously call the human trafficking hotline immediately with her room information and motel/hotel you dingbat

Do you see the difference between being constructive and being whatever that was you were?

This young girl is the daughter of someone who works for the same company as me, even though I know I do not them , it is still very sad.
We can all hope that she is returned safely.

Apparently the lure for some victims are these signs that suggest big paydays with no experience- remove these signs if you ever see them.
I am not suggesting that these signs are responsible for her disappearance

I've never once walked out at the door, so it honestly never even occurred to me that it wouldn't seem suspicious. Thanks for suggesting it, even though you were a total asshole about it.

He never a talks about “going through with it”, just possible outcomes of what could happen non of which suggests “going through with it”. My condolences to you & I can understand this maybe a triggering topic for you as a survivor of H.T but let’s not point fingers here. Regardless, in my personal opinion I think the best course of action would be getting her location with a fake interest in booking and reporting it to the authorities and let them take care of it. Human trafficking is complex, people (majority women & children) are trafficked/conditioned for various reasons. Simply saving the victim may not solve the entire issue but it certainly helps. From all the documentaries I have seen about this topic in most cases the traffickers/people that do this kind of things have leverage/control over their victims weather it be family, drugs, money, or cognitive conditioning making the victim almost “depend” (if you could call it that) on their traffickers. I think what PlainBob is trying to say it’s difficult to help someone that does not want to be helped.

Agreed. Although she's 29 - not that it makes a difference, but just to point out we aren't looking for a young girl.

Really? I thought that was all online these days.

To be fair, that was one of the options I posited originally. I'm glad someone suggested the old "forgot my wallet" trick - I've never done that and it never occurred to me. So going through with it is now not even a last resort.

I doubt we'd see this girl's pics in an ad. It would be more a matter of meeting her at the door unexpectedly. So it's about being prepared to react to the surprise (which again was kind of the point of my original post.)

And yes, helping someone who doesn't want help is difficult.
