Lang, I’m more curious about. I usually thought his heart at least was in the right place, even when I disagreed completely with him.
I always found I read his stuff even if I 100% disagreed with him. Lately, I even found myself in agreement with him a couple of times.

You can respect a good debater even if you disagree with his point, but I find that debating skills are in fast decline these days just about everywhere.

I seem to recall (as though my memory is reliable enough to be worth anything) that Lange always had "Banned" as his own user-defined title ?

Got that? The Derb is talking about killing Chelsea and all the Clintons.
For the good name of your party, admit at least to the guys on TERB that you don't really believe that.

I'm surprised feminista is still gone after more than 2 weeks, she was usually quite calm yet could make her points forcefully. Is it permanent? There are others who get more enraged yet are still here.
Even so, this board is fairly mellow compared to some sites where the flaming is out of control.
Like the political forum on the Chicago Bears board.

And the right is any different????
If anything, the right is even worse at demonizing.
Noone is better than Rush or Ann. Even the communists
and Saddam are lagging behind those two when it
comes to character assassination. Talk about proof
that the subjective views of individuals colors their
observations and conclusions.

All politics is partisan. And passionately so at that.

That is true but in general the so called levels of tolerance and behaviour expected varies with the group.

As a representative of the right side of things if I was to say to others on the left some of the things they put in their posts I definitely believe I would have had a PM from a mod. Not the good kind of PM, mods don't do that anymore, they all have other sources of income.

I always thought it was better to know where people stand than have them hide their true beliefs, no matter how unpopular they may be. That is a consequence of true democracy. x
What evidence do you have that anyone here "hid their true beliefs"? Why would anyone bother? I just don't see this. (And, yes, that is what I really think..)

You're projecting. So sad.

And your point is? It really doesn't matter. you can be as self righteous, sanctimonious and whatever as you like, now that its getting warm all of us right wingers are heading north in our SUV's and you become just another background noise. Come to think of it, thats really not much different than any other time of the year.

Let's play nice. If your SUV rolls over I don't think you'll
care a hoot the political leanings of the person that comes
to your assistance. If the same occurred to me, I wouldn't
care either.

Let's play nice folks. Life is far too short.

Agreed and when I give blood I don't specify that it only go to a conservative. That being said I still like to wind up the leftie drones.

locking/closing thread...

Wow....rather than ban people,we should just close threads. "People are using threads for their personal agenda" What exactly is posting links to papers and forums that support your ideas. We all have personal agendas. Some are only more honest in admitting them.
I don't like Ann or Rush any more than the average person. I think they are also idiots. I don't remember asking them to represent me for any cause.
Some people could have requested that some threads should be closed when people proclaim that the murder of innocents is called self-defence. Not I, for I believe in free speach.
Regarding the hiding of true beliefs. That happens when people are not allowed or prevented from saying what they believe. In this case, banned.
Iwould like to keep writing, but I have to go watch Fox news on the tv in my new Hummer that is having its oil changed by an illegal immigrant who will allow it to drain into the water system causing the deaths of thousands of seals off the coast of Newfoundland causing hundreds of natives to starve to death.

Over the last couple of months:

Judas H
Arabian Guy
Scroll received a temporary ban at the same time as Roger awhile back.

There is no conspiracy.

arabian gay was just a doorknob who set out to piss people off from the get go.

troll is not a poster, he is a linker devoid of any ability to think for himself

So both of them hardly count.

When mobster Joe Valachi testified before Congress, someone tried to claim that he was besmirching the reputation of Italian-Americans. Valachi simply replied: I'm not talking about Italians, I'm talking about criminals.

I believe Judas H was not banned for political reasons.

I think at you could say the same for any of the other posters that have been banned.
