The only thing that's not "single use plastic" is a plastic shopping bag, first it's used to get grocery home and then it's used to throw out the garbage.

Most items in stores are wrapped in plastic, that's single use plastic. Good luck getting rid of that. Big business would never allow it.

I used to collect all my garbage bags and plastic straws and once a year would drive to Halifax and throw them in the Ocean but I don't do it anymore.
You don't need to drive to Halifax.

You remeber all that plastic that you dutifully threw in the blue bin over the years? You know the plastic they told you was being "recycled"? Bad news, it's physically impossible to recycle plastic.

So we'd load it into containers and send it to China. (Because the Chinese have a secret recipe to recycle plastic. Yeah, that's it. The Chinese.). In actual fact, they just proceed to dump it in the ocean and then send us the bill for "recycling" all of it. So odds are very good that some of your straws did indeed make it into the ocean.

I live in a condo so I need plastic bags to throw my garbage out.

If there was a real concern for the environment then there should incentive to produce biodegradable shopping bags.

Most stuff from recycle bins ends up in land fill anyway, it's just to make us feel good that we are doing something good for the planet

It's funny that you know what's going on but the government doesn't.

Maybe some kickbacks are involved for it to continue?

Plastic bags were already going into the landfill when Trudeau was in fact still a drama teacher. I’m not a huge fan of the guy either, but many seem to want to pin all of their dissatisfaction in the world on him alone.
It was the stupid drama teacher that brought in the stupid illegal ban on plastics.
