I live in Dubai and I am not sure if that is your cup of tea, but June and July are off season months there as well because of the heat. You are looking at 40-50 degrees C at the peak of the day with high humidity. Pretty nasty but it also means that the hotels are empty and desperate to bring people in. There are many 5 star places that usually go for $ 400-500 per night, but in those months are willing to drop to $ 100 range. Most effective is to e-mail a bunch of hotels to their reservations managers and ask what they can offer. For flights you can check Air Canada or Emirates from Toronto direct to Dubai. If you have never flown Emirates, you might want to try. It a long 13 hour haul though.

Your activities have to be suited for a trip like that. Daytime is killing with the heat, so you will be restricted to indoor stuff like malls, indoor skiing ice skating, Burj Khalifa observation deck (1800 ft high). Most of Dubai's women spend their summer days inside the malls, so it is easy to meet up at cafes and restaurants. If you are more into adventurous stuff, there are some nice diving and snorkeling trips. The water is warm that time of year and you are out of the sun under water or when snorkeling with a t-shirt.

The city comes more to life in the night once the direct sunlight is gone. It is still humid but the temperature comes down quite a bit. Close to dusk, the beach is nice and sea water very warm. Dubai is packed with great restaurants from all corners of the world. Plenty of bars to meet women, as well as places with working girls (dropped some info on that in this forum before). To try more local stuff, there are nightly desert safaris which include Arabic food and culture.

I recommend renting a car, because it will be you air-conditioning on the go. Waiting anywhere outside for taxis or public transport is killing. You can also use the car to make trips to Abu Dhabi (capital) or Fujairah (on the Indian Ocean). You can kill some daytime heat like that while driving to your destination in air-conditioned space.

I hope this helps for people who have Dubai on their to-do list. It is still not cheap, but you can save quite a lot of money during the summer months.

I found some packages on Expedia for Bogota, Colombia. in Kingston, Jamaica you can hear radio stations from Bogota on the Am band on a good radio at nights. I may visit there to enjoy the cool mountain climate and carry a radio to listen to the local Bogota stations.

Sumapaz Páramo
Bogotá has a subtropical highland climate (Köppen Cfb bordering on Csb).[60] The average temperature is 14.5 °C (58 °F),[61] varying from 6 to 19 °C (43 to 66 °F) on sunny days to 10 to 18 °C (50 to 64 °F) on rainy days. Dry and rainy seasons alternate throughout the year. The driest months are December, January, July and August. The warmest month is March, bringing a maximum of 19.7 °C (67.5 °F). The coolest nights occur in January, with an average of 7.6 °C (45.7 °F) in the city; fog is very usual in early morning, 220 days per year,[62] whilst clear sky sunny full days are quite unusual.[62]

The official highest temperature recorded within the city limits is 30.0 °C (86 °F), and the lowest temperature recorded is −7.1 °C (19 °F), both at the Guaymaral Airport.[63]

The rainiest months are April, May, September, October, and November, in which typical days are mostly overcast, with low clouds and some winds, bringing maximum temperatures of 18 °C (64 °F) and lows of 7 °C (45 °F).

Because of its low latitude and high altitude, Bogotá has an average of 12 daylight hours and 11+ ultraviolet radiation year-round.[64]

NEW: Hideaway at Royalton Punta Cana | (HONEST Review & Inside Tour)

that's all for now

I went to the Royalton in Punta Cana in 2018 or 2019. But to the family part just beside the adult only. Absolutely one of the best all-inclusive I ever did. My kids were 13 and 15 back then if I remember. I did not see them all week except for breakfast and dinner. There was so much to do. I try to return to this hotel but it's now too expensive for me.

I would recommend Costa Rica. Was there this time last year. It's great if you like doing things, hikes, waterfalls, ATV rides, river cruise. Go to LA Fortuna for Volcano hikes and Hanging Bridges in the rain forest. Rented a car, it can get pricey but we went off peak season just before the rainy season. Didn't see much rain.

I was with the gf so no idea about hobbying.

I am thinking of going to Portugal in the fall, this time going to solo. Any recommendations?
