so called both today. What a difference in the two phone ladys. I have to say I am shy about the whole thing and yet want to ask questions to make sure that I am clear about everything so that there is less chance for confusion during the appointment (when I am even more nervous!). ANyhow explore her was patient and gracious and nice, PK was clearly put off by my whole existence, that is one unhappy camper working those phones.

It's a shame to hear that. There have been at least a couple of threads/comments about the lack of friendliness and customer service from PKE's phone gal. In one thread she even spoke up, apologized and promised to change. Perhaps the improvement was short lived. I'm planning to be in Ottawa in the next month or two and had intentions to spend some time with Betty. Bad or ungrateful service is a real turn off, even if it is just the person booking the appointment. I'll let everyone know my experience if I call to book.
Everyone has off days and theres 2 sides to every story. Lets not all jump at lisa's throat again because we smell blood.

Honestly its very hard for me to comment on this as I really don't have much information, I will say that Lisa is trying hard these days at being consistently nice with everyone. But she's human and like everybody else she will have days where she might run into situations that can swing her attitude the wrong way. Overall I think she's doing a very good job, business has been very brisk and overall are reviews have been very positive as of late. That's not to say there isn't always room for improvement.

The gentleman who runs PKE (Jason) though is active on boards and cares about his regulars and their satisfaction with ladies he represents. On the other hand Explore her has an email system which you can pre-book and email and ask question (big advantage to me). In conclusion I would say Each to their own, no one is perfect. The fact is they are no. 1 and 2 in Ottawa. The question is which is 1 and which is 2. If you pass the phone lady (or the guy on Saturdays) when you contact PKE, then in my view the No. 1 title belongs to them but EH is a close second.

lisa has been easy to deal with of late. sorry this guy hit a bump in the road. you can't please everyone.
I didnt realize I was wading into a deeper pool. I did not know the history and I am not commenting on the service or ladies at all. I should have changed the title to pk v and eh: reception. I was merely commenting on the very sharp contrast in reception because it was so marked. acknowledgment is the first step on the path to redemption and I feel badly that I brought light to a situation in resolve, as I understand thats a process and I am sure that this was a bump on a road block.

Anyways, PKE is doing great and can't keep up with the demand, so they don't need to be good in the receptionist department. I was blown off more than once long time ago asking for more details on the girl, and there just wasn't much detail the she would provide. Luckily now they provide face pics, and their pic quality are getting better.
PKE has great selection, and constantly refreshing the fleet. That's the core of their strength. If you focus on that, an just remember, you're not dating Lisa the receptionist if that helps.

Part of the issue is websites. If PK would keep theirs updated like others do, it would make Lisa's job easier!
I would agree to what you're saying, and say that it's at least partially the case. At the same time however, I don't think that this is the only part of the problem. One of the issues that we have, and it's a good problem to have sometimes is the fact that we are retarded busy. We receive an average of over three hundred phone calls a day. By the end of the day you can get extremely worn out, and perhaps your tolerance isn't as high as it normally would be. Let's face it this is an ordering food at McDonalds, it's a much more personal business and many clients are nervous and often repeat the same question and many clients that call have English as their second or third language so it can be frustrating to communicate sometimes. This isn't an excuse, rather it is part of the reality of this business.

Exactly, and a lot of those "does ____ do ______" or "who does what" type questions could be avoided if your website was up to date and contained the type of information that other sites do, or you answered these questions by e-mail or pm's. This would cut down on a lot of the repetitive calls from people who just want some quick repetitive questions answered.
Totally agree with GlavaMan and Bop...the EH website provides a lot more data that I am certain is being asked over and over again on those 300 calls. I personally would much rather know about breast implants vs. favourite drink...as an example. However...in PK's defence their website has face pictures...which is a huge plus.

Lisa is awesome. She's always been 100 percent professional, fun to talk to, and reliable. We're on a first name basis. Communication is a two way street, you have to know how to go with the flow and find a way to click with people.

Anyways, this thread is a rehash of a recently discussed topic, and the only purpose to encouragement for Lisa to continue on the path of improvement she has been working on. May she continue on that path once again. I still say DISNEY!

I don't think that Lisa is off track, she may have her moments now and then, and I am sure we all do. None of us can say we're always "on".. That said I would say in Ottawa we are still the one to beat. Hands down, barr none.
To compare us to EH isn't fair to either of us. WE are much much much busier, and with that comes more pressure on the phone person from everyone. The Clients, the ladies and from me to perform.
If our volume of calls were at the same level, I'm sure we would have the time and patience to put up with everyone all the time. Fact is we don't always have the luxury to have that leisurely 5 min convo.
I think every Agency and SP has alot of room to grow in the Ottawa Market.

Not trying to pick a fight...but why not? You are both agencies operating in this city, why wouldn't they be compared? Perhaps you are busier...who knows...but if being busy means that the phone receptionist can get a bit frazzled and grumpy at times...which does not occur that the "less busy" place...then perhaps that is something to consider when picking an agency. Just like quality of girls, quality of website with pertinent data, pictures showing face/no face, etc...These are all differences between the two and I think the purpose of this thread....
