Since when has Nardwuar been a fixture in Canadian politics? The first time and last time I saw him he was on Much Music asking musicians annoying questions. I think you are confusing Nardwuar and Rick Mercer.
Has China not given him enough to money to register?
Not showing up to the TVA debate and lying about the reason is a slap in the face to Quebec.
As @Frankfooter mentioned, a Nardwuar interview will humanize PP and allow him to look like he's fun. It is not a scripted interview, but it isn't like Nardwuar is going to ask him "gotcha" questions. And, it might get PP a different audience that what he's used to. It is basically a low stakes interview where they will walk down PP's past relating to music and sports and other pop culture stuff. And, I recall the righties on here lambasting Kamala for now appearing on Joe Rogan or other forums, and pointed out that Trump did....which might have won him the election...Why is it different for PP?
In my opinion, PP has become too scripted and is scared of the media. His team asks journalists for their questions before they can ask them, and there is no opportunity for follow up questions. And, because of this, he has been asked more questions by the Sun's Brian Lilley that all of the CP and CBC combined. Is he that worried about being held to task on the campaign trail?

The French debate will be held in Montreal April 16.
