If this bastard has seen other escorts, then escorts would be the best bet to identify him. (Also, fingerprint and/or DNA evidence?)
Considering the mild temperatures we've been having this winter, it strikes me that the only reason he's dressed like he is is because he's hiding his identity... In other words, it looks to me like he was planning on committing this crime. I've been to my share of sketchy incalls, and I've never made any attempt to hide my face, head and hands.
If it was windy and he was outside, maybe, but no way would he cover his face like that indoors. No way. So yes, it ostensibly was to hide his identity.
I'm not sure what people are expecting someone to do after a planned sexual assault/murder. It's not like they run out the building yelling "I just murdered someone".
The hope is that somebody who knows him or an escort that might have seen him previously will recognize the body shape, the walk, the clothes, the shoes, etc.
