And I don't give a fuck what you think either. If something is posted I can comment on it and sure don't need your fucking permission to do so.

To be honest, I probably took a shot at the wrong person. You insulted the music, but not the person. It was more "notthemama" that's being an ignorant a-hole.

For the record I posted this because a) he died way too young-45 years old and b) he was a talented rapper and part of one of the best groups in hip hop history. Also one of my favourite emcees who I thought was extremely underrated. If you feel the need to post in here trashing the music or the man then that is your prerogative. You are entitled to freedom of speech. All it shows us is how much of a classless POS that you are.

Love Phife's verse on this one. When's the last time you heard a funky diabetic?

Why?

Why is our society so bent on saying nice things about someone who died? I'm sorry but that is just bullshit. If someone is an asshole in life, he/ she will be remembered as an asshole in death, but why does everyone ignore that and wax poetic on people just because they died? Its hypocritical to the "n'th" degree.

Earlier this week Rob Ford died. The entire free world (with the possible exception of a few close friends and family members, and only then, because they were/ are in denial), knew this guy was a liar, and cheat, amongst a great many other nasty things, and people go on about how he was a 'hard worker" and a "fighter"?

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot people????

Call a spade a spade and get over it already. Death is unpleasant, I agree, but save your empathy for stuff that matters.

True story on this. People kept coming up talking about his diabetes, and he didn't know how everyone knew. He totally forgot he spit that line out in that song.

My parents taught me to respect those that died. I give my condolences because those that knew Pfife: his mother, father, children, wife, and those that were touched by him are now mourning the loss of a loved one that touched their lives.

Pfife wasn't a perfect human being, but he wasn't you local drug dealer, pimp, gangsta, Hitler or Stalin.

I find it funny that all 3 of you geezers would comment in a thread that you know nothing about. Then again, I'm not surprised that you geezers would equate a hip hop artist as a degenerate even though you know nothing about him.

Well them I'm not sure how you can weigh in on what was being posted about him is disrespectful or not.
I didn't. I was commenting on someone else's opinion that it disrespectful to hate on someone that just died.

I just did a search on Phife Dawg and found this video of his from 2014. The song pays homage to Jay Dee, another hip hop great gone too soon:

Hip Hop Great ^?
Even in hell that shit would be considered cruel and unusual treatment.
Do you assholes have no musical taste.
So many Hood wannabes.
I miss the good old days when the pigmentally enhanced had to show they were better than whitey.
They dressed sharp.
They sang with absolutely great voices.
They put on great shows.
Sure the politics were wrong and nobody should suffer the discrimination they went through.
But look at the body of work they left behind. Fucking fantastic.
I respect them for succeeding when everything was stacked against them.
Now it's a combined race for the basement and beyond.
What is this generation's contribution to music?
A reflection of what's worst about society?

Take it easy old man. You might suffer a stroke posting in this thread. Don't get too hyped up. You might lose more of those hairs that were part of your 80's mullet, or whenever you thought you were cool.

As they say," You know your old when you bitch about today's music.".

So a fictional cartoon character mentioned in an 90's episode of the Simpsons, that I watched as a kid, determines how old I am? Your senility is starting to show old man.

Dude, I was probably not even born before you had your 1st bout with erectile dysfunction at midlife. I'm 100% sure your parents or grand parents weren't grooving to your choice of music as a kid.

Anyways old man just stop posting in this thread. I can trade witty insults with your profanity laced tirades all day, but I don't want you missing your sleep. Sleep is important at your age.

Peace out my nucka.

Dude...what is your point of even posting in this thread???

A talented musician that we all liked and respected passed away. Do you don't like the music? Fine, but instead of being an ignorant a-hole and knocking a dead person, why not just bypass this thread and contribute to ones that are of more interest to you?

Was listening to #backspin yesterday they had a couple DJ's devoting a full hour to Phife Dawg tributes. Mister Cee (Big Daddy Kane's DJ) was one. The other was a guy named DJ Bee who I'm going to look up on twitter because his mixing of the verses was on point. I want to order a copy of the show it was seriously that dope.

Do white people in Toronto really think like this? If so....what a terrible place.
