I think that most people are essentially good & Most nowadays feel very frustrated with how they perceive the world is. Some people have the brains & opportunity to investigate further into the specifics of what bother them & learn how to effectively Do something about it or cope.

The vast majority, however, either by lacking the intelligence or simply being too busy with the rat race disparately cling to whatever new ideology comes by that promises them they can "save the world". That way they feel like they are doing positive & contributing with their minimal ability/effort.

Hope is a good thing AND a bad thing.
