I noticed a well know SP recently tweeted pictures of gift cards she received from a client that included the client's full name in some of the pictures. I just wanted to point out to other SPs, in case you are thinking this would be a good idea, for many clients (I'm thinking probably most clients) this would not be appreciated. It's possible she had his permission to do this (in which case it's fine), although she later covered his last name in the pictures leaving only his first name visible. Anyway, I just wanted to point out to SPs that in general, please keep any personal information of your clients private.

But I thought SPs who get client info never reveal it to the public? lol

Must have been a credit card gift card since I don't think store cards like Best Buy or restaurants have a person's name on it.

Thanks for the heads up, but shouldn't you let us know which sp it is who outs Client personal information, so we can avoid her and not have the same thing happen to the rest of us?
SP's need to learn to take confidentiality seriously.

If you buy an e-gift card and send it to someone by email, for example, they will get an e-card with a message saying something like "so and so has sent you a gift from..." so the name of the sender is right there on the card.

I don't know the details of how this happened. Maybe she had his permission or at least thought she did. I did notice the tweet seems to be gone so something changed her mind I guess. Worst case scenario, she made a mistake and appears to have taken steps to rectify it.

My purpose isn't to bash the SP. She has thousands of followers, many of them SPs, so I just wanted to point out to other SPs, in case they saw her tweet and thought it would be a good idea to do the same thing for their clients, that for many of us at least, it would not be appreciated.

You can send the e gift card from any valid (including hobby) email address. I also believe you can type out just about any name on an e-gift card.

In this case it appeared to be a real name. I assume that's why the tweet was deleted eventually.

This is happening more frequently. FB too. I am amazed at the hypocrisy of some sps . I'd NEVER EVER disclose the personal info of anyone I saw unless they committed a serious crime. Really disappointed in one sp friend in particular. Call-out culture nonsense.
