Link may not last long because they change the ticker daily. I'm sure it could be found elsewhere. God what a bunch of unprepared imbeciles the GOP has offered us. This is getting more than insulting. He's a drunk or a moron, take your pick.

I refuse to believe this is the creme de la creme. The ones who do know what is going on aren't there. Why they don't have the wherewithal to become involved I can only guess.

These buffoons are the 'cleaner' ones.

Those others can't come forward because they have even bigger skeletons in their closets...:eyebrows:

OK, so for austerity let's paste:

A visibly flustered Rick Perry was reduced to "Oops" after a painful 45 seconds of trying to remember the name of the third of three federal agencies he would cut at a Republican presidential debate in Rochester, Michigan, on Wednesday.

Answering a question about jobs creation, Perry attempted to name the three agencies he has proposed shutting. He named two, but could not come up with the third, even after appearing to consult notes.

And then he said oops like a confused school boy. Another campaign we can stick a fork into. Very depressing. The Republicans have a very real candidate in Huntsman, and I will predict he will go nowhere. Because the core and the fringe of the Republican party don't want reality. They want a dream candidate defined by a hundred different voices that doesn't exist.

ROFL... here's the OOOPS moment.
The neo-cons can't come up with a better bunch? lmfao
They love their money, their guns, their Bibles (yep I said it), but education, ehhhh, not so much.
Ron Paul even WHISPERS it to him between 18-20, but apparently comprehension is not his strong suit. lol

This makes him human, thus gaining more sympathy from the general public?

His name is being talked about.......

And here I thought Cain's campaign was going up in flames. I've never seen a candidate make such a complete fool out himself in a national debate as Perry did. Truly unbelievable.

I would love to know what medication regime this guy is on to cause or control his ooopsies. Now if he was overweight, hhmmmm. Was he reading his notes on his sweaty palms and that's what brought this on?

It makes me wonder if Cain didn't pay him off to look like an even bigger ass than he is and draw away attention.

God what a bunch of unprepared imbeciles the GOP has offered us.
One point Asterix, the days of the party leadership soliciting candidates to run for President are long gone. You can certainly say that some of those who have chosen to run, should not have but to imply that the party has asked them to run is inacurate.

We will see what happens when delegates actually begin to be chosen. But at this point his polling numbers are abysmal. :frown:

I just heard the whole 50 second clip on the radio. Wow. That was painful.

To be fair, the current electoral system favour actors over thinkers. He might still be a good decision maker, and reasonably informed, but just isn't the kind of guy who can think on his feet fast enough to look good on TV. That's going to kill his campaign, but it's probably a negative against the modern political system, that favours actors over thinkers.

Aartie where exactly in Asterix's post does he make that claim? The party may not ask but members of the party haver to make it clear what they want. Remeber Newts exploration committee to look into the possibility of the validity into the decision to make a run for POTUS, or some such nonsense.

Then he tries to slough it of today by saying he's just an ordinary guy and we all make mistakes, tells me he's a moron because most ordinary guys are trying to be POTUS. he couldn't communicate a point that is a cornerstone of his and other GOPs whole purpose.

What makes it worse is that the question he was asked, was what would he do to work with Democrats across the ailse. Perry didn't answer and instead decided to spin off in his own direction about the three agencies he would cut. No one was pressing him on it, he brought it up himself. It was his script, likely in notes right in front of him, and in desperation he actually turned to Ron Paul to help him out. He still couldn't answer. This may be the only time in modern debate history where a candidate got blindsided by his own gotcha question.
