I try to eat them only rarely but perogies with sour cream, bacon, and green onions. And add some homemade cabbage rolls..... Yum!

Not that I've ever made them, but there's a recipe in the Joy of Cooking for dumpling wrappers. Essentially, an egg, some flour, and a pinch of salt, then u go to work with the rolling pin. I'd probably fill them with a blend of mashed potatoes, onion, and shredded cheese, maybe add a pinch of herbs. I'm pretty sure u could substitute Chinese dumpling wrappers for the cases.

Here in the states we have these frozen pierogies and various fillings from Aldi's markets. I like to boil them for 5 min., then into the frying pan in olive oil with some chopped garlic till all is brown. True this is not a make your pierogi from scratch, but they're quite delicious fixed this way.
