Pittsburgh has now lost more games in a row than any team in NHL history.

Meanwhile the mighty Sens sit at #1 in the League (81 points) !!

Ottawa surpassed the idle Philadelphia Flyers, Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Red Wings, who all have on 80 points on the season, to claim top spot.

I guess the question now is,will the Penguins ever win another game??

You have to feel bad for them and their fans.......

as a true penguins fan (we are a rare breed), i am happy they keep losing. they weren't going to make the playoffs so this just helps their cause in securing the 1st overall pick. also, with a horrible team like this, it shows u need money to win, or at least contend. no money doesn't work.

on a positive note, unlike most leaf fans, i have seen my team win the stanley cup.......TWICE!

The mighty Sens continue to pull away and sit at #1 in the League (81 points) !!

Toronto drops to 4th spot. The Sens are 1 point ahead with a game in hand !! Sweet !

Start with proper management/coaching.

Yes it sucks being a Pens fan. On the bright side, they have a lot of good prospects in the minors who will hopefully pan out in a few years. If they win the lottery the next couple of years, Ovechkin and Crosby could be Pens. I still say they'll win a stanley cup before the Maple Leafs.

Its depressing when you think of the talent they use to have. I know most of these players cancel each other out via trade but you could have:

Jagr- Lemieux - Kovalev
Naslund- Francis - Nedved
Barnaby - Barnes - Hrdina
Robitaille - Lang - Morozov

Defence

Zubov - Kasparatis
Tarnstrom - Ference
Roszival - Berehowsky

Goalies

Lalime - Caron

Pretty impressive. I'm tired now and not thinking straight....probably better players out there that I can't think of right now.

Can't believe I forgot those two. That goes to show you the talent they have had.

The streak is finally over at 18 games. With the trade deadline coming and the possibility of losing Tarnstrom then....its only gonna get worse.

They have a great bunch of prospects but who knows if they'll ever work out? I'm praying for Ovechkin and Crosby but the way Washington is going....who knows?

I believe its a 50 % chance of it. I don't think any last place team has actually won the lottery in a while.

My how times have changed!!!

Pittsburgh Insider said:
A record number of ticket plans has led the Penguins to discontinue taking ticket deposits for full-season and half-season plans, the team announced today.
The Penguins are on the verge of 13,500 full-season ticket equivalent, a club record. Team officials halted deposits to make sure there were seats available for the wildly popular Student Rush ticket program, individual game sales and 6-game and 12-game mini-plans for the upcoming season.

The previous record for full-season equivalents was 12,350, set in 1992-93.
BTW - shouldn't this thread be moved to the Sports Discussions?
