As I said on another thread. I know 3 cops that take steroids and at least 1/2 dozen more through a body-builder friend. It's illegal. Yeah, hypocrisy!

Juicing up with steroids is one thing, how about a Peel cop I know and his cop buddies smoking joints and doing 'rooms at parties. Yes, they were off-duty but that doesn't make it right.....Another fine example those Peel cops set.

It makes sense that Peel cops are juiced more than other services. Peel uses a different standard for physical fitness than Toronto, Durham, York, OPP, etc. You have to be in better shape to pass the Peel test, it is MUCH TOUGHER!!!!

Last year there were about 6 people busted at the Pickering Extreme Fitness for steroids as well as coke. One of the busted included an employee of Extreme Fitness (I believe he was one of the nutrition / diet guys) as well as a Captain from one of the Scarborough fire stations.

We quit Extreme shortly thereafter because it was becoming like a Gold's Gym...too many guys without necks who grunt a lot.

Plus, Extreme really pumps in the new $19 a month members to the detriment of equipment availability and repair. We have discovered that the city gyms are actually very decent...and you know that they will never disappear in a corporate takeover.

As in any force (or any group), you get a few bad apples that embarass the rest of the guys, mostly over stupid stuff like steroids. Our individual Canadian Police forces are pretty solid and are run by pretty solid guys. It's not the easiest work and the pay is good but not amazing. Being inflammatory about cops in general or in the Peel police force isn't a fair position to take.
