Times have changed, Italians are no longer seen as half evolved primates by the English.

There is now substantial cross-referencing in the English/Italian vocabularies. As Patrick-Mark Hamill's excellent UberEats commercials show.

Nigella Lawson's Christmas Special aired on TLN last night. And check uot that most quintessential of Englishmen: Colin Firth.

...although he does struggle at times.

I think it was the 200 year occupation that did that.

So now it's on to S5, The Great Depression is on and the Antichrist shows up to take over Shelby Inc.

The pleasure was all Seth's. I prefer her in red or brunette hair, she looks too Angie Bowie here. Love the Argie accent.

Started to watch this show and am on S3 and I must one of the best soundtracks for a television show. The tunes are amazing and of course the show is brilliantly written. Great stuff all around.

I’m torn on this one. I’m getting sick and tired of superhuman villain/hero’s that never die and take a beating where they are beaten to a bloody pulp that would of had the rest of us eating through a straw and wetting out pants for the rest of our lives (if we had lived) and yet in the next episode they appear with a scratch on their cheek. I must say that GOT did a much better job of this. No character was sacred.

Also, if you are a student of history, there may be a few things that may bother you. There is a scene where Churchill reads a letter from Tommy Shaw. Churchill is impressed with Shaw’s war record. Churchill reads the letter and asks “who here was at the Somme?” Hands raise. Then he asks “Who was at Verdun?” Then Churchill raises his hand. I’m pretty sure that Churchill, after the disaster in the Dardanelles, fought as a BTN commander but I believe that he was not at Verdun. And I believe that there were no Irish sappers like Tommy Shaw at Verdun either. That was an all French vs German battle. I thought that the Somme was a British offensive that was devised to take pressure off the French sector? I’ve never heard of a British or Commonwealth unit fighting in that battle.

Here is a nice article about the unit that Tommy Shaw claims to have fought under in the Great War. It was cavalry and there were no sappers (tunnelers).

If you are going to spend millions on a series doesn’t it pay to spend a few hundred dollars on a consultant to make the back story plausible?

I didn't expect they would get all the facts correct but the series gets better with each season.

In S5 Michael Gray is giving in to hubrus, he's not as smart as he thinks. His lovely wife Gina (Anya Taylor Joy) could be a she-wolf, what we don't know is what she prefers: Jameson or Old Bushmills? Y2Kmark is right, Anya Taylor Joy is a better actor than Amanda Seyfried. I have a hunch that with Gina Gray she wasn't required to audition for Beth Harmon. And she nails the Michigan accent.

English Fasci supported by King Edward VIII, had he not abdicated he would have become history's worst traitor.

Imdb isn't very accurate. Netflix has ordered two more seasons but production stopped due to the contagion. It looks like Gina Gray story will continue into S6 but nothing is mentioned on Anya Taylor Joy's imdb page. The actor who plays Oswald Mosley is fantastic, he gets the dashing menace down perfectly. His name is Sam Claflin, never heard of him before.

I also checked with a forum of WW1 aficionados. There were never any British troops engaged at Verdun.

BTW - that cost me nothing to do. The producers could have done that too. It makes them look stupid.

Still, it’s a pretty good show. I’m just disappointed they didn’t do their homework.

Gumba, his gumba Leo de Caprio threw a hot tub party for Tom at his mansion before the Oscars. Just the two of them with 7 supermodels.

The clip left out Idris Elba.

Love Peaky Blinders. Arguably, the best show EVER on TV. I think it gives the Sopranos a real run for its money. The acting is superb, the cinematography, the writing are absolutely brilliant. My only criticism of the show was casting Adrien Brody as Luca Changretta. Brody just imitated Don Corleogne (Marlon Brando). It was cartoonishly bad. (How is that that Luca's mother was an Italian Brit in Birmingham with a Brummy accent and she has a son who lives in New York, identifies as American and has an New York Italian accent?)

But I digress.

Brilliant show.

I have to thank Von for turning me on to it through TERB 3 or so years ago.

"I don't pray, I hope" and "I don't care because I'm already dead"

I turned quite a few people on to this show as well and they all have thanked me profusely for it.

Thanks Tiberius.

I was on S2 E3 when the BBC sold the rights to the show to Netflix, Crave no longer had access. S5 was produced by Netflix. Black Mirror is another show that went from the BBC to Netflix, haven't started streaming it yet. The BBC kept the rights to Luther, it's available on CBC Gem.

That's true, Verdun was a German offensive against a French citadel. Excepts that this show isn't a Star wars shitfest, I'm willing to allow Stephen Knight a few errors for the quality he produced. And he didn't make the same mistake twice. For Taboo, the history was correct, there were dramatizations to add grist to the story but I found no errors. That series has achieved a level of prestige, Samuel L Jackson is using stills from it for his series Enslaved.

It was just a wild guess after S4, I didn't really expect The Anti-Christ to show up in S5. Anya Taylor Joy will be in S6, whenever they start production. Everything has been shut down due to the kaka.

I'm done with S5, Steven Knight didn't go against history, I'm expecting the same in S6.

We don't know who Mr. Jones (The Anti-Christ) is but he's left Tommy Shelby in a bad way. After Al Capone went to prison, Tony "Big Tuna" Accardo took over his Outfit. That means the chances of Michael Gray taking over the Great Lakes distribution are less than zero, his arrogance masks his stupidity. We don't know Gina Gray's back story, she may still be Ulster - certainly not iRA. Part of the pleasure of S6 is watching ATJ flesh out the character, she's an extremely dangerous woman. How will Tommy Shelby adapt to survive, that's another story.

Steven Knight said in an interview that he and Chips Hardy have a finished script for S2 of Taboo, Venom2 has wrapped. However Tom Hardy has committed to another film called The Things They Carried, co-starring Billy Skarsgard (It 2) and Pete Davidson (SNL) - who knows when he'll get to S2?
