Pat Marsden Dies

A true broadcaster. I'll remember him for his fine football braodcast's and his spirit and love of sports

Not only a great sports broadcaster but he loved to party....They don't make them like that anymore....

Definitely a partier, can really suck them back, and one of the last guys from the old school in broadcasting. Use to remember him reporting sports on TV in the 70's, real endearing guy. Will be missed.

I guess those casino guys in Vegas that he owes money to will never get their money back now.

I'm old enough to remember when Pat was the host of Sportsbeat '70 on CTV. I think he did some of the Canadian segments on Wide World of Sports, too.

interesting how the Fan 590 the same station that fired him for making those racist statements a few years back, has spent the entire day ohhhh and ahhhing about how wonderful he was

from what I hear yes he was a major partier, but not to speak ill of the dead, but he was a lousy sports caster from what I remember his time on the fan, every story started with some long memory oh when i was the broadcaster for the Ottawa Roughriders in 1967 etc etc etc, his knowledge of current sports was non existent it seems

Yes, but he was a good story teller and was funny, often at his own expense.
The Fan also got rid of Bob Durant who was also a non-PC commentator. I guess Pat should have known better, but I think he'd be out of character to let someone else dictate what he could or could not say.
