I have a 2nd trip planed for Toronto in the Summer. Last time I was there I payed a LOT for parking downtown. Are there any better options than $25+ a day?

We used TTC for all our traveling around the city and had no need for our car.

Thanks!

If it's not for overnighters, you could park for free at either Fairview Mall or Scarborough Town Center and hope onto the Subway / RT from there.

Looking for a place that I can park my car for 4 days and not have to worry that it will be MIA when I get back. But thanks for the suggestions!

Walmart Super Centres are open 24/7, so you can park there for a while before they catch on. Particularly if there are other stores in the plaza.

At the stations near the end of the subway lines there are usually large kiss-and-go's with lots of relatively cheap parking. My family, who hate the traffic as much as anything, just park at those... It's not free, but it's cheap, not a mall lot, and doesn't require you to be a car moving ninja in a residential neighbourhood. A TTC daypass is $10 good for a couple of adults or a family of the weekend. Great value there...

You can get a temporary parking permit for a week that costs $17.57 including tax from the city. I've had relatives from out of town get them with no problem.
You can get it online here. http://www.toronto.ca/transportation/parking/
Thanks for the idea Brill, but it looks like a resident of Toronto needs to fill it out. I found a parking garage thats $20 a day, so thats not to bad I guess.

Not only does a resident have to fill it out, but your permit will be limited to the neighbourhood where the resident lives.

The parking garage at City Hall across from the Sheraton Centre is quite reasonable. I think it's $10-$15 per day.

Almost all the downtown parking lots are being converted to condos. Soon downtown Toronto will be like New York City with no parking lots.
