The Cowboys cut Vanderjaqt and sign Martin Gramatica. Anybody that watched the game last Thursday and seen the look on Parcells face when V barely made an extra point kick knew his time was gonna be up . After his missed kick last year that dude has never been the same. Kickers have to be the worst head cases in sports.

Coming from Oakville he may just have been afraid to come to practice on the Jail bus.

Lord knows those cowboys have their fun...

I came back to this thread cause something bugged me. There was a Time when Landry was the coach that it really meant something to be a Dallas Cowboy football player. It meant something to be one of their cheerleaders. It meant class. And thats gone now.

I don't recall during Landry's tenure that there were scandals involving players. He coached that team well and demanded the finest from his players on and off the field.

Whats the hell has happened to football? It's almost like it's a reflection of the music industry now. No rules when it comes to personal behaviour.

sad.

It has always been like that. Its just recently that the players have been held accountable(somewhat)

Maybe Mike Vanderjagt can come and kick for the Argos or maybe the Blue Jays can pick him up since he is a free agent now.

I don't think the Landry years were quite as idyllic as you may remember them and I'm sure in those days much of the scandal was really kept on the down low. In fact one of the biggest scandals in Cowboy history, Hollywood Henderson, was during the Landry era.

Don't know if Gramatica is the guy the Cowboys are looking for? He's only kicked 1 FG in the last three years. Didn't even play last year. His long ball record isn't so great either. Has trouble with kicks of 40+ yards.

Thats for sure...even Manning called him a head case a few years ago. I think it was for something he said though, not for his kicking ability, which at that point was outstanding. I really don't get it. He's pushing everything to the right. A pro like him should be able to correct the problem.

Wookie...yer right. I guess I was younger then and just watched the games. In the Dallas heyday that seemed to be pretty much all we saw. Yep I'm dating myself but the TV coverage wasn't what it is now. Thats was around the time they introduced the hot cheerleading squad.

The Cowboys did seem pretty clean back in the Landry era. They had good role models like Staubach. Something happened in the 90's when there were many of them who were associated with drug use, including an o/d death (Mark Tuinei). Seems like they are back on track now with Parcells at the helm.
