As many of you know I'm a fairly regular visitor to Toronto, and I usually stay at either the Interconti or the King Eddy when I visit. In planning a trip for the spring I've come across a very good price at the Pantages Hotel. I've looked at their website and it seems to be a great boutique all-suite facility. Does anyone have any information about the hotel, its ambience, services, and location? Any help would be appreciated.

Pantages

Great place, beautifully restored and modernized. Has an excellent spa if you are interested in that.

Location is a 2 minute walk from the Eaton Centre.

Modelled on European boutique hotels, high level of service, etc.

It is a nice departure from the normal chain hotels.

I just checked the hotel thread that PHNINE started and reading the posts by him and homonger makes me hesitate about booking this hotel. The key card elevators seem a real hassle, and a bad room service menu doesn't help. I guess I'll keep looking for another bargain!

I know the prices are good, but I would suggest staying some where else. The decor is nice, and only if you stay in the Ambassador suites, very spacious, with sitting area, and fully functional kitchen. The views aren`t bad either. However, the room service is crap, like really crap and not even 24 hours, so no midnight snacking after hot poonage. If I remeber correctly their rooms run about $250-$300. You are better off staying back at the King Eddy, or even the Interconntinental. BTW, is the Interconntinental the one on Bloor or Front? If it is the one on Front try there Club Level. The rooms are really really nice, with a great lounge that serves free food and drinks.

Again if you don`t mind splurging I still highly recommend the Windsor Arms. Trust me Max you will not regret it. Butler service, 6:1 staff to guest ratio, surround sound (music in the bathrooms), DVD/VHS/CD Changer player, pullout sofa (if you need it), live music downstairs on 5 nights of the week I believe, great great chef with 24hr room service, Jacuzzi standard in all rooms, and the best part is it is a small botique hotel so there is not much traffic and very SP friendly. If you don`t want to tell us your budget, PM me and I can give you an idea of what kind of room to get. But again Max, I highly suggest trying it once. You might never want to stay anywhere else.

This goes for you to Homonger. Try it...

BTW, for those that haven`t seen the thread it is here:

Hope this helps. Happy Pooning!!

Intercontinental on Bloor

Thanks for the recommendation of the Windsor Arms, PHNINE, and when I'm ready to do a splurge weekend I'll definitely check it out. But like homonger I usually come to town to do the ladies and to eat well, so I want luxury without high cost in hotel rooms.

The Interconti (the one on Bloor) has long been my home-away-from-home in YYZ, and with my Ambassador Platinum I get an automatic upgrade. (BTW, I hate the Interconti on Front!) Doing 3 3-4 hour bookings and eating at top-notch restaurants is the way I prefer to spend my hard-earned dosh, so finding a 4-5* hotel for under $200 is my preferred way to go. (The Interconti website promises to match any price found on any of the other websites).

Now that the reservations are made, it's time to pre-book the ladies!

Well I hope you have a great trip. Can't wait to hear about all your pooning. The Windsor Arms is on the pricier side, and it is my home away from home. Although I live in Toronto, I stay there or at the King Eddy twice a week. I liek to do my hobbying at hotels. No clean up, and room service is key for me.

The Grand Hotel has nice spacious rooms for under $200 as well. Pretty hot staff too. Their jacuzzi suite has become famous in the hobbying world, Room 902. That will be slighty over $300 though. Well in any case, have fun and remember to pull out!! :p

Yes, it is inevitable, I guess.

Max, it sounds like you've already decided to stay elsewhere. I like the Pantages for a number of reasons, but being sp accessible is not one of them.

Been there, done that, wasn't impressed. I agree about the size of the suites and the wonders of the jacuzzi as well as the "hotness" of the female staff, but the location is the pits! (Read my comments on your own thread PHNINE!) Every time I went out for a walk I was accosted by drunks, addicts, and panhandlers. Even sex in the rooftop hot tubs didn't compensate for the lousy location.
