My problem with many people of extreme religous faith is the way they try and force their beliefs on other people. And it is my experience with pentecostals (I have a few family members who are) that they don't do this. My aunt is as devout as you get but has never even asked if I was interested in it. She let me live my life as I would and (I think) satisfied herself with the fact she was going to a heaven I was not. Now of all the religous ideologies we could have in power, thats IMHO as good as it gets. Shame about her political beliefs.

I have never seen any candidate generate so much fear in their opponents.

Assume that McCain wins the election and assume Palin runs in 4 or 8 years and wins. The vote would be the will of the American people. But ask yourself what power the President has. The President can pass no laws, only Congress can. The President can not appoint any Supreme Court Justices without the Senate approving them.

Personally I like her if for no other reason than the fear she strikes in the dems.

Killing in the name of Jesus ...

Speaking of the troops in Iraq, Palin says on the video, ""Pray for our military men and women who are striving do to what is right. Also for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending them out on a task that is from God. That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for -- that there is a plan, and that plan is God's plan."

That's mainstream Republican doctrine these days.

What if she did start speaking in tongues?

Palin's former pastor, Tim McGraw, says that like many Pentecostal churches, some members speak in tongues, although he says he's never seen Palin do so. Church member Caroline Spangler told CNN, "When the spirit comes on you, you utter things that nobody else can understand ... only God can understand what is coming out of our mouths."

Dubya has been uttering nonsense for years!

But here's the tricky thing about US politics. She could also potentially be the POTUS in January 2009....and would have been voted into that position by one person, John McCain....and not the will of 300 million American people.

Frankly, there is no reason that we should even be aware of her religious views, but now that the political landscape in the U.S. has made it a necessity to know that information, these views are reason enough to be very wary of her. (Quite frankly anyone who believes the earth is 5,000 years old and that the theory of evolution is nonsense, should be immediately disqualified from running for public office, but since half the population believes that to be the case, no point in talking to a brick wall).

The rulers of the U.S. are hearing imaginary voices.

Not incomprehensible at all.

I just hope that the voters in America wake up before this Osamamania thing goes to far. Nobody even remotely close to the terror cult should hold the reins of power in America. I really don't see how it can be expressed any clearer.

He's the closest to them of all the candidates. It's in the bloodline, he went to their schools.

If the dems try to make Palins religious beliefs fair game for attack then I can prod at hussains muslame terrorist lineage.
