About average for an SP in the UK.
The only thing troubling about it is her father. It looks like she's pretty cool with her life.Aardvark154 said:No one else sees this as a very troubling story?

Certainly I'm not saying that she doesn't have the right to choose to be an SP.cypherpunk said:The only thing troubling about it is her father. It looks like she's pretty cool with her life.
Seems to me this is just another story of a messed up teen who just happens to be more intelligent than most. Notice I said "intelligent" not "smart"?Aardvark154 said:Certainly I'm not saying that she doesn't have the right to choose to be an SP.
It's just the totality of the picture. Bursary (Scholarship) to St. Hilda's College Oxford at 13. Runs away from home at 15 (and correct me if I'm wrong) never goes down with her degree. Marries a promising young Lawyer, but divorces in just over a year and is now an SP. This to me is a troubling picture (thinking with the big rather than the little head).
It's only troubling for how cliched it is. Overbearing parent, pushes child to do feats beyond normal humans, and in the process destroys their childhood. When the child grows up, they rebel and do exactly the opposite of everything their parents wanted them to achieve in an attempt to recover their normal childhoods.Aardvark154 said:No one else sees this as a very troubling story?
And, indeed, that's part of what's troubling about it.bjsk90 said:It's only troubling for how cliched it is. would she marry someone who is 58 yrs oldasn said:unfortunately i know a lot of women like this. my friends sister is one of them. she is brilliant. undergraduate @ cornell , masters @ columbia. 28 yrs old and making well over 300K a year. i doubt she'll ever get married. she's gorgeous too, her family is liberal but she has to find a guy who makes more than her and is smarter. a very hard thing to do. the guys who are smarter and make more money like the daft barbie dolls and arent into cerebral women.
