Most of the governments problems (ie OUR problems) would be solved if they just stopped catering to disingenuous, anti social, malcontents.

no one has a family doctor any more. that is the problem
And if they luckily do chances are pretty good the doctor is a female of child bearing age who tends to not work extended hours like her predecessors.

In 1990 74%/26% was the breakdown of male to female family physicians
In 2000 it was 65/35
In 2024 its now 50/50

I was im emerg a while back and this super big woman was in there complaining about how her knees ached... seriously aching knees - and the doc - who was also pretty big told her it was arthritis and there was nothing she could d - I was in the next booth with a severed thumb.... and I'm like no its not arthritis its cos your knees arent designed to carry around that extra 200lb.... I dunno man give them the proper info.... Is it not PC to give honest advice? would the doc get in trouble for fat shaming?

Hospitals have a triage system, the non emergent cases are made to wait for hrs after a vitals checkup.
@Jami77 so you read her charts and with your yrs of medical experience knew it was due to the extra weight... maybe you should have corrected your medical colleague at that point
@K Douglas are you implying that women should not be doctors.. it's 2024, in case you have not noticed and not the 60s.

They have always gone for stupid shit like that. This is nothing new but someone with serious injury will be seen first. This is why people bitch about long timelines. Because they wait 12 hours for their sniffles.

My dad went in a few years ago. He was sick because he is an alcoholic and was having issues. He waited 13 hours.

Another time we went because he feel and needed stitches. He was seen in 2 hours.

Both times are completely acceptable based on his injuries.

WTF does this have to do with anything. Why do you seemingly have issues with female doctors????? I thought a little better of you.

You’re a doctor?????? I have weight issues. My doctor had/has told me to lose weight plenty of time. I have told him I like cheesecake too much, but my arthritis that has been confirmed with testing, is not a result of my weight. Just FYI.

I would say if there are open wounds sure they get seen asap...but a dislocated joint are as painful as hell...not a 2 Tylenol fix and wait 6hrs...

That would still come before cold symptoms. It is done by triage.

Instead of arthritis (inflammation of the joints) as an auto immune disease, her inflammation of the knee joints may be because of the extra weight they are supporting. The response of the knee joints is the same but the cause of the inflammation is different.

A severed thumb? Wow. Were they able to reattach it? I hurt my thumb shucking oysters 2 years ago and severed a nerve and a tendon. They operated and I still have significant numbness. Doing up tight buttons is a bitch.

...and they're bringing their entire families with them, taking up a ton of space.
Fuck I went in with a fractured hand on my own, told my grandmother and father to stay home, a lot of these people turn it into a family affair.
