I don't think there should be any discussion or issues with deposits any more as there are many options to conceal that. I think awhile back Tara Parker gave a few suggestions on a thread. Pay cash for a prepaid credit card or gift card and send them the details. Or even ask them to give you a generic email address for etransfer. And if your significant other asks about that just say it was money you owed for a fantasy draft or something. The etransfer might give out your name though so you have to decide if you want that.

But you have so many ways to hide the funds from someone so that really shouldn't be a worry. Now if you want to debate about be scammed or ripped off I think that's another discussion.
