To the anti-AI people, this news will make them more anti-AI. OpenAI had zero chance of changing the minds of anti-AI people, so they do not give a shit what anti-AI people think.

I have been amazed at Gemini AI in Chrome. I have tossed some very odd, detailed questions at it, and within a few seconds it gives me long, detailed answers with links to references.
It is SO much better than just a normal Google search. I have asked it complex EE (electrical engineering) complex math questions about antenna radiation (am, ham radio operator since 1964 - attend Mississauga Radio Club meetings when fit in my trip schedule)
Lots of amazing answers to Windows questions and recently precise information on how to revert Outlook Classic back when MS forced an update to the new one, as well as step-by-step details on various options to stop it changing to the new one by registry and other ways to prevent it updating to the new one in the future.
I am just amazed how smart it is - not to mention how polite and interactive. I even said thanks for the info but have to go to bed now when it answered follow-up questions. It replied, "Have a good sleep but I am always up unless someone pulls my plug."
And it's free. I am just awestruck how good it is and how almost instant it is, with a long list of references of where it got the information, which I know is correct.

Yes, it is free if you are just using it for casual use, not lots of coding, etc. I pay nothing for it and is amazing vs just a norman google search as tells you so much more instantly.
