Here's the official list of businesses permitted to reopen this coming Monday.

Garden centres and nurseries with curbside pick-up and delivery only;
Lawn care and landscaping;
Additional essential construction projects that include:
shipping and logistics;
broadband, telecommunications, and digital infrastructure;
any other project that supports the improved delivery of goods and services;
municipal projects;
colleges and universities;
child care centres;
schools; and
site preparation, excavation, and servicing for institutional, commercial, industrial and residential development;
Automatic and self-serve car washes;
Auto dealerships, open by appointment only;
Golf courses may prepare their courses for the upcoming season, but not open to the public; and
Marinas may also begin preparations for the recreational boating season by servicing boats and other watercraft and placing boats in the water, but not open to the public. Boats and watercraft must be secured to a dock in the marina until public access is allowed.

Lol! Sheridan Nurseries opened two weeks ago- I went to buy some seeds. Landscaping companies didn't wait for anyone's permission either. Construction? What's with the restrictions? If the municipal projects are going full blast(and they are) with no problems and they have been, why not just reopen them all? The major developers are going forward while the smaller builders with no horsepower to snag big gigs are taking it in the ass. Enough already.

Expect retail and malls to open within 2 weeks or so but probably with limited hours. Ford slowly opening the economy.

Golf clubs and marinas...Ford is such a puppet. He campaign donors made him cave. Otherwise they won’t support his next re-election bid.

I somehow did not notice this thread yesterday. I would’ve thought that this is a topic that would’ve gotten more traction. Assuming that a number of people of TERB are in or around Toronto (after all, that is what T is TERB stands for), I would’ve thought this post to be welcome news, no?

While I have come to learn over the last few weeks (as lockdown has given me more time to spend on TERB) that most topics here are discussed with a huge brush of lefty-blue and righty-red, as a middle-path guy, I would’ve thought that there would be some sort of consensus that after 6+ weeks of shutdown, TO and ON having flattened and bent the curves (okay, not a 14-day decline yer, but that is coming, I would think), reopening the economy in a measured way (which is what Premier Ford is suggesting) would be welcome news. What am I missing?
