Is is nothing new sadly.
At first, it was craigslist erotic service back in 2011, we adapted and went on backpage, close in 2018 and now it's leolist.
Same with different platforms like Tumblr in 2016 that banned porn, onlyfans creators and clients will find another platform. Justforfans exist but they take 30% profit and I think manyvideos is a pain on the ass to update.

What pisses me off the most is that 25/30 years ago when credit cards companies started to be online, its the porn industry that ended up putting them on the map, same with Paypal, now being conservatives companies they are being moved away from porn, cause onlyfans cant find new investors (like hundreds of thousands of creators leaving wont hurt them...

It will take time again to switch, but people will find another platform and adapt.
And as some said, probably some SW will come out of retirement for a bit

Maybe this is kind of media story that sends crypto surging for a few weeks as people start thinking... "how can we get around the CC companies".

No... a new site will start up.
There are others but I believe they won’t last because for one big banks and payment systems are separating themselves away from sex workers and porn. Two they don’t have the wealthy venture capitalists willing to invest after this while only fans change. One I saw claimed they will use crypto but who would spend their crypto to spend In this?

looks like people will run back to pornhub.

porn basically helped the internet grow. Yes porn helped credit card companies but I think you’re wrong on the PayPal part. eBay propelled PayPal which made Elon musk rich. That was their biggest deal.

Not the same issue because I don't use visa and mastercard to pay for twitter.
But twitter is clearly moving in that direction.
They brought in the paid tweets, they really want to find a way to get payments involved and when they do I suspect they nuke the porn for the same reasons.

But only a moron would use crypto as it currently exists to pay for anything.
If the whole point of crypto is to hold it because it rises as a speculative asset, spending any of it for porn is dumb. (Unless you expect it to crash and are getting as much value as you can out of it.)

This partially true. There are cryptos currenty matched to some currency prices. (USD AND EURO). But yes I wouldn't spend mine in this. Now when the Fiat based ones coming factor in people will be able to pay direct without banks. And then this type of payment will explode

I agree they will go bankrupt or change back because they are losing basically all their revenue.

I feel so bad for all the ladies who are now going to lose a source of income. This so sucks for them.

I don’t want to say it but I am so glad I started my own personal porn site that I control totally on my own. I never felt conformable with OF when it got popular last year. So I went on my own. It made it harder for advertising because guy trusted the OF platform a bit more but I am so happy now that I choose to stick it out with my own site.

They're missing out on a lucrative opportunity. But as poker said, another site will open up to capitalize.

If you really think this way, then spending money on porn (or just about anything else) at all is just dumb, since you could be spending it on crypto instead....

Buying crypto is easy these days, and changing $20 of non-crypto into crypto to buy some porn isn't all that hard if you don't want it showing up on your bank statements.

Alternatives already exist (eg. AVN Stars); many creators on OF also post content elsewhere or will likely transition to.

The average person doesn’t use and or know much about crypto and isn’t going to go through learning how to use it and convert their money to it just so that they can subscribe to someone’s account to see that persons butthole. OF provided an easy process.

But crypto as just a payment system for a fiat currency is just a really slow payment system.
I guess crypto people are maybe slightly less likely to be anti-porn but it doesn't seem to change much of anything.

Have you talked to most crypto fans?
NUMBER GO UP! HODL!
If that is your actual logic for crypto you shouldn't have any money other than the bare minimum to live not in crypto. :)

The difference is crypto can be transfered wallet to wallet with no middleman to stop that portion of the wealth transfer. And its faster than the present SWIFT system, especially on international transfers.

Think of it as the buying of crypto is going to the ATM before a session. Handing over the cash is the crypto part, and her deposits are the return to normal fiat.

And sooner than you think spending crypto directly, probably in the form of central bank issed coins, is coming.

Apparently they are having issues getting financing because of the adult content. Which I think is sort of stupid. But, I guess they fear any illegal stuff like what happened on PornHub with the revenge porn or underage porn that apparently was/is rampant on it. They lost credit card support for a bit (I believe).
This is exactly what the inside scuttlebutt says.

We all love the money, but hate the risk, and the exposure. It's one thing to be dragged into court by the government, it's quite another to be dragged into court by the government for making a commission off of a 19 year old single mom selling vids of getting butt-f*cked by her drugged up bf. That's some bad press.
