I was reading one of the posts on Quest but was wondering if anyone has any luck with the infinate number of online sites and which one would be the best for Ottawa? Some of the girls on a few of the sites seem too good to be true!

Tried lavalife and ashelymadison. no dice for me. But I've got a SO, so don't post a pic etc etc.. and straight out say I'm in a relationship. Narrows down the prospects considerably right away.

Thing with online dating sites, a girl who wouldn't get the time of day offline, is swarmed with prospects and guys online. Heads get a little big in some cases, and guys, being guys. Msg everything and anything, as they're ok dipping their stick anywhere. So online dating is somewhat fucked.

Same here, tried plentyoffish, got a few nibbles but it is pretty much a sausage-fest and it takes a ton of work to find anything. Too2shy is totally right...all girls get swarmed, no matter what they look like...even those with no photos. Also poked around on Adult Friend Finder and that went nowhere either.

2012 hasn't been a good year for me and that's why I'm here on TERB and seeing SPs! :biggrin1:

I've run into a few sps on POF, actually. I've met 3 girls the entire time I've been on there. 1st one was a total smoke show and the other two were cute. A lot of talkers, sadly.

For Match everyone pays to read/send messages. You can view profiles (including pics) for free.

For eHarmony, everyone pays to receive matches which includes viewing profile pics. I think this is for people looking for a serious relationship in contrast to the other two. Note you have to do a 30 minute questionaire before you get matches sent to you.

For LL, only the sender pays and you can view profiles for free.

Never been on a dating site, met my SO the old fashioned way...through a friend. lol.

One of my co-workers is a very good looking, fit and sexy independently wealthy woman. She decided to try match.com because she's too busy to go out and mingle and was swarmed by 50+ messages in the first 3 hours. She was showing me the messages at work and laughing her head off. Most of the guys just seem too cheesy so she pulled her ad.

ugh. thanks for the heads up. imagine 50msgs in 3 hours. something has to really stick out.. self marketing skills need to be razor sharp. I've met chicks online for normal dating, shrugs.
