They are still going to sell to Japan. He did not say he would not.

However it is a smart move by the Liberals. Have Justin spout off about the saving the planet to appease the environmental fans.

Then a few months or a year from now he will spout off about how he helped Japan during their difficult times, and look like the good guy.

No, he wins because he's not a Tory and the Tories disgust most of urban Central Canada. That's why the Tories lose again and again and again.
Canada is the greatest country in the world. If you don’t like it- LEAVE.
Is it really a good thing for Trudeau to win against PC as well
as the Green Party of Canada and the NDP again and again as
far as climate change is concerned? Surely, Trudeau has
demonstrated his commitment to fighting climate change
again this time through his lecture to Japan on decarbonizing.
And not too long ago during Germany's Scholz's visit Trudeau
promised export of hydrogen in response to his request of natural gas
from the east coast. While I can see why Trudeau can be praised
for his diplomatic skills when it comes to climate change I just
can't see how as our leader it is good for the world from the climate
activist standpoint. It is just due to logistic issues that we cannot
export natural gas to Germany from the east coast or increase
exports from the west coast sufficiently to meet the demand of
Japan at this time. Oil will be exported to Europe from Newfoundland
once the Bay Du Nord project is brought online. By then LNG terminals
in Nova Scotia will likely be in place soon to export natural gas to Germany
as well. Likewise volume of export of oil and natural gas to Asia from the
west coast has nowhere to go but up pending completion of expansion
of the Trans Mountain Pipeline project Trudeau approved and construction
of more LNG terminals.

With Trudeau and the Liberals in charge Canada will continue
dumping as much carbon-polluting fossil fuel to the world as we
could produce so long as it is profitable. Obviously this is a good
thing for our economy. Just don't fall under the illusion that we are
a great nation if you are one of those who believe burning fossil
fuel is detrimental to Earth's climate.

This has been typical of Canada’s federal Liberals for as long as I can remember. Always speaking out of different sides of their mouths. It is significantly more pronounced, now under this Trudeau.

WASP hate.

Btw, I'm an immigrant and there's enough here. Our economy and health care system can't keep supporting the open borders and bleeding hearts.
Without immigrants our economy is going to take a major hit when all the boomers retire/die. Our population would decrease significantly, because we are not having enough children to offset those dying off.

So, where did you immigrate from? I'm white and was born here, and I have no issue with people becoming new Canadians, be they white or any other shade. We need more people. That's the bottom line. Demographics tell us this. However, I've noticed the largest group that is against immigration and so-called open borders (like seriously???) are those that just don't like immigrants from Africa, the Caribbean or Asia...

What does Beat mean to you ?

You seem to forget that the Conservatives won the popular vote in the past TWO elections. Not the Liberals.
In our parliamentary system, Trudeau's party got the majority of seats. As I'm sure you are aware, we don't directly elect the PM, but we elect their party to power. So, the fact of the matter is that despite losing the popular vote, Trudeau and his party clobbered the PCs. But, since you are interested in the popular vote, let's figure out how that shook down....

If you look at the areas where the PCs got the majority of their support, it was in enclaves in the west and other places like that. They didn't do great in Ontario or Quebec, the two most populous provinces. But, in those provinces voters cast ballots for other parties besides the Liberals or PCs. NDP won a bunch of seats, PQ did well, and what not, and that eroded support to all other parties. That didn't happen in the West, where, for reasons that defy explanation, voters continue to vote conservative when all it seems to do is fuck 'em in the ass. I mean, look at Alberta. They've had a conservative government for nearly 60 years, with the exception of the NDP recently. And now they have Danielle Smith as premier, someone who continues to do MAGA-type theatrics as the provincial leader...Real embarrassment. The reality there is the Conservative governments never did enough to help the people of Alberta. They have all their eggs in the energy basket, and have depleted the "rainy day fund."
