I think that I left Toronto just in time now that Olivia Chow got elected as mayor. but the question is would you ? (you know what) I think that she does not look bad for her age but I am in her age group

In less than 10 years downtown will look like Gotham City. Electing Chow is like electing Bane for mayor. Like Bane she talks about blowing up infrastructure.

WFH will shutter more and more offices. The homeless encampments will be everywhere. Police will be compelled to ignore crime.

Free drug zones and the violent crime they bring will expand. The service industry will move out. All thats left are LCBOs and’ cannabis dispensaries.

What is with people wanting to have a go at mayoral candidates. There was another thread where someone wanted to do Ana Bailao. 😂

Yikes! When Olivia eventually winds up running the Wee House, you know it`s over.

Downtown is already looking like a war zone with homeless and refugees all over the place.
Olivia will make it much worse.....

downtown, with its dirt, garbage and grime..and its endless construction delays and a 1001 pylons has been a warzone for years....long before Olivia became mayor.. can it get worse?...maybe, maybe not....but a change in direction is a welcome thing

Olivia is just one vote in the grand scheme of things.

The same hysteria in this thread was the same from the left crowd when Rob Ford was elected.

Toronto is too big to go away and no matter who is charge we will never know if it would have been any different with a different person in the chair.

10,000% I LOL'd hard on the warzone comments. I thought construction in the city was a good thing according to Robbie and Dougie? Yet it's suddently not the case now that another person is in charge?

She has big, big challenges ahead. She just may turn out to be a fine pragmatic mayor and do a lot of good.
She will necessarily be forced to be a lot more conservative than many think given what tasks and issues are ahead.

Not sure John Tory can really be considered Conservative. A lot of cons hate him for being a red Tory.

What he really was, imo, was just a politician that had no real political ideology or brand and would capitalize or try to, on anything that suited his purpose ( to get elected).
