Old vs New reviews

I've been a lurker for along time and finally I asked Fred to set me up to post...so quick too! My reviews will be starting as I visit my friendly neighbourhood SP's.

Anyhow, I see people asking for reviews and the standard reply is "do a search". Well what good is a review from Feb 2001. I mean, weight, hair, attitude, services all change. I'll look at a review that's maybe one or two months old, but for sure not 6 months or older.

Please, if someone posts "do a search on (insert name here)", please validate that the old reviews are still accurate. Better yet, a link to an accurate review would be nice.

Thanks to all.

p.s. I'm ready to be flamed so be nice if you must

I haven't used this feature myself, but according to the search dialog you can search for posts newer than a specified date.

Of course an old review is better than no review, so I suppose what we need is to be able to search for the n most recent reviews.

You will have to decide it for yourself. Information on the internet should be taken with a grain of salt. A review, even a new one, may be written by someone who is trying to promote herself.

I look of diversity. If a lot of different people have reviewed a particular SP over a long time then chances are that she might really be good.

Old reviews also show how long a SP is in business. A few people prefer newcomers and others "well established" ones.

tx nearly normal

As one who's not afraid to press the little icons above, Ive also taken it upon myself to reach out and try the PM function. I actually used it to contact a senior member who was very helpful in my selection and info on current status of particular SP's.

The one I was searching for is around and my first "official" review will be posted soon. Check after Jan 30th :)

Thanks all

It is true that many sp's may not have been reviewed recently and therefore, searching old reviews may have limited utility. However, I would still suggest it should be the first thing you should do before opening up the question to the broader board. In that case, it would be fine to preface your request with the statement that you have done a search, but were hoping for more recent information.

While I am not singling you out, kenyd, I cannot believe the laziness of some posters.

Point taken homonger

I guess that`s why I never had a reply to my request on info for Rebecca @ Avery....

https://terb.cc/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=22109

No problem now, I`ve since booked with another famous lady who seems to be a much better choice. As mentioned above, I PM`d a senior member and came up with a good choice. Look for the review soon.

As you implied Homonger, you just have to do a little extra homework to find what you`re looking for.

BTW, such little flaming from you guys...I don`t know if that`s a good thing or an insult.

I saw no reason to flame, kenyd. You obviously had done some searches and had a valid concern about the helpfulness of older posts.

I was going to flame a poster from the other day who wanted contact info on Bobbi. I didn't, and other folks were nice enough to give him that information, even though that girl has generated more threads than a yarn factory. That was pretty damn lazy.
