Just a coupe of guys in a fight and one got pushed onto the tracks- no biggie. It's been going on since the 50's. Like setting random passengers on fire or stabbing them to death.
My suggestion to anyone riding public transit is always be aware of your surroundings. A person next to you like Vincent Weighang Li might behead you and begin to eat you then be free years later rehabilitated-you'll still be dead like Timmothy McLean.

About 15 years ago, I took a job Downtown…. Needed to go from Kipling to Bloor. I quit just before I got to 8 months. Worst time of my life.

The point being Japan has installed these barriers in some stations. Barriers were installed on the Bloor viaduct so why not start installing these at the so called “problem“ or high traffic locations. There are way more transit riders than cyclists - but yet the city has installed so many fcuk ing separated bike lanes.
Just do a traffic count on the number of cyclists that use the bike lanes on the Danforth for an entire month and i bet you there are less cyclists than there are transit riders that get on at the Bloor station on a day.

Yeah, no biggie. Unless you happen to be stuck in on train, or station or shuttle bus when stuff like that happens.
Hong Kong retorifitted platform doors on every underground staton.
The barriers on the Bloor viaduct don't have any moving parts. The ones for transit and in your pic obviously need to open and close. And the train has to stop at exactly the right spot to line up with the doors.
Not sure why you're conflating bike lines with platform doors. The cost of those two things are vastly different.
The silly thing is that we already have these kind of doors on the UP Express at Union and the Airport station. I believe the Ontario line will get them too.
