Rodney's has a small little oyster shack just off Bay south of Richmond called "Rodney's by the Bay". I have never been but have walked by it many times.
Why not buy your own from a good seafood market, get a bottle or two of bubbly from the LCBO...(you will need an oyster knife) and open them at home?
Great food, great fun, very romantic.
First of all, you eat oysters with Chablis, not bubbly.
Second, just because you have a proper knife does not mean opening them is as easy as slicing bread.
Third, you must really chill them so you need a large tray and lots of ice... preferably crushed or shaved.
Fourth, although not essential, you have to also make a good seafood sauce... though I prefer a splash of Tobasco and/or some lemon juice.
Fifth, good seafood stores are not a dime a dozen in the Toronto area [in fact, other than the St. Lawrence market there are only about half a dozen in all] and you need a store with high turnover because the oysters must be fresh, fresh, fresh or you will not like the taste.
Lastly, you want a variety of oysters for the different tastes; it is much more fun to eat two of this kind, two of that kind, four of another kind, three of those others...
Oysters are one thing in which quality and service are hugely important.
