........ let's go Raptors! :hail:
Well, that was that! Raps need to just get off on even terms with their starts and it would be a whole different season! Cavs are strong, though, and after 60 games they seem to have figured it out. They are class of the east now, apologies Hawks, and will be a force heading into playoffs. Now off to Charlotte where they've always had our number! As the sched goes, the boys really need this one. Hope KLo gets back soon. ....... But, thanks to Kristine Labelle foe helping to commiserate with me after the game! :thumb::Eek: These ladies do so much to ensure that our despair never lasts for long! Bonne Nuit, Ms Labelle!

Let's go Raptors..! :thumb:

Looks as if the boys did not have Carolina on their minds last night! This is starting to become a stenchful stretch. Defence has really faltered and 2 more toughies on the road. Ever since trade deadline, they've seemed to have lost it! Let's go Raptors!

I'm so sick of this team, during the first half of the season I thought they had a great shot of making the Eastern Conference Finals. Depending on how far down they slide with all this losing, I don't think they'll make it out of the first round. This team sucks, and we're looking at a Leafs style collapse for them in the last stretch of the season.

Whoa there James... Let's keep things in perspective. The goal this year is to advance past the first round of the playoffs - that's it. If they manage that, management will pat itself on the back for a job well done. The fast start to the season certainly raised expectations among the fans but if you listen to the Raptors brass, they have always preached that the goal is to get past the first round of the playoffs - anything beyond that is gravy.
I honestly didn't think they could keep up the same pace they set in the early part of the season... it's just not possible, what with injuries and all the other hurdles that come along during a long year. The regular season is a marathon which is supposed to set you up for the playoff sprint. If you wanna see how its done right, check the Spurs - they've been doing it right the last several years, managing their playing time and pacing themselves until its time to turn it up for the playoffs. Raptors have to learn how to do that as well, which means until you go through it a couple of times, you're never gonna perfect it.
I'd be more worried if this slide and drop in play continues into next month because it means they haven't learned anything from the other top teams or the past.

Everyone needs to relax. Before the Rudy Gay trade, this was a bottom feeder lottery team. After a miraculous 1 year turnaround, everyone expects this team to make it to the ECF or beyond.

Not too many teams in NBA history have gone from lottery to the semi-finals in 2 years. We don't have a Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Akeem Olajuwon, or Larry Bird on this team.

What we do have is a young team which has players that are still developing. The age of our core guys are as follows:

Derozan 24
Lowry 28
A. Johnson 28
Valanciunas 23
Ross 23
Patterson 25
Vasquez 27
L.Williams 28
J.Johnson 28

With the great start during the season, expectations rose to the point where they were not realistic. The goal from management has always been to win a series. Anything else is gravy. The championship run begins in the summer of 2016 when we will have huge cap space, two draft picks (one being a potential lottery pick). This has been a good season with some outstanding performances, so just enjoy it.

Playoffs couldnt start any sooner. Tired of hearing everyone freak out because they have been losing a lot lately. Raptors have proved enough to me already to feel confident they will do some damage in the playoffs. Would love to see them play Washington in the first round.

The Raptors are freefalling and are now in 4th in the East. If they playoffs started today they'd face Washington, which would likely be a 7 game series that could go either way. A much better scenario would be for the Raps to finish in 3rd and face the 6th place Bucks, which I think they can win in 6 games. They always lose against Charlotte, so hopefully they don't face them, and I wouldn't be so confident if they ended up facing Indiana with Paul George coming back. If they somehow end up facing Chicago or Cleveland they have no chance.

The Raptors really should have made a trade for a big man to help rebound. Having guys like Hansbarough and Chuck Hayes really isn't going to get the job done.
It seems like trade deadline passing relaxed everyone and they haven't refocused yet....this slide needs to end Friday night else they might be one and done again this year......let's go Raptors!

That run after trade ( Gay ) was unexpected and this 2 month slump is also unexpected ... What happened last year wasn't an organization blue print that played out and that is why we won the division .

Bottom line is hard work ( hard team to play against ) is what happened and this team has lost it's hunger .

If they keep losing like this going into the playoffs the first round will end very early for the Raps. They need to have momentum going in, they have 18 games left to turn things around.

Expectations got ramped up through the roof after the start, but as you say, when unexpected positives happen we forget what it should be. This is a good team, but lots more is needed to get through to the next level. Long term is still in play so 2016 is still the year Masai has targeted for full on regeneration. What they have done this year is ahead of schedule. I just hope they can still end strong so that their psyches don't get too whacked by a negative ending to the year.
Anyways, this would have a welcome back game but it's not yet trouncing the Heat would be the right thing to do tonight! Let's go Raptors!:D

Are we getting Javale Mcgee? It's the best situation for him & us. He'd get playing time @ back up centre.

Hey ho what a way to go! Well I'll take 45 minutes of solidness for a start. It's nice to be able to finally see a Heat defeat. Jonas might have been the problem! Just kidding and all the best to Jonas Jr. and his parents. The kid will have a canadian passport so if like father like maybe so we can dream! Now another fun BtB with Porties in and then onto Pacerland where they have rediscovered the game. I think we will all be good with 1-1 so here's hoping..!:thumb:

..... And, of course, another victory celebration was in order and a return encounter with Rita now at Zenful had been prearranged and she was great regardless of consternation or celebration. :hail::hail: actually should check what my Hobbying/ Raptor record is this year as I have tended to that double header  this winter...let's go Raptors!
