Sorry, raptorizedguy, I'm starting this up before you! Can't wait for this season!

My prediction is that the Raps easily defend the Atlantic division crown and go 50-32, winning 50 for the first time in franchise history.

I think Brooklyn is the only team that poses a challenge to winning the division, but they lost Paul Pierce, Livingston, Blatche, KG is pretty much done and they just aren't that good.

I hope you are right. I am disappointed with the acquisitions. I still think(hope) Masai is working on a trade. Johnson has been here before, and, unless he has matured, could be a royal pain. Lets hope Lowery has another season like last year, his contract year!
Jonas should be bigger and better, DeRozan will probably have gained a lot from playing on the U.S. national team. Barring injuries they should be competitive at the least. Want to see them play before making a prediction.

Sorry ? Love the passion

Cross your fingers when it comes to this season .. Every great season Raptors have had were always a great suprise ... Seasons when high hopes are expected often don't meet expectations ... Can't go wrong with a young roster which is hungry and has playoff experience under their belt ..

Raps 49-33 3rd in Conference again ... Cavs really only sure bet to be top in conference .... Second , third and Fourth have 4 teams who can get that 3 spots ie Wizards , Bulls , Hawks , Heat

How do Raps match up to Cavs starting 5

Centre : Anderson Varejao
SF : Lebron James
PF : Love
PG : Klyle Irving
SG : Waiters

Not much depth in PG and SG

The Raps don't match up against the Cavs, no one in the East does. There is no way the Cavs are not going to the Finals, no way in hell, unless LeBron gets injured.

I'm looking to see how the Raps play against the Bulls, Wizards, Heat, Bobcats, Hawks.

Honestly, I'm not entirely sure they are better than any of those 5 teams.

That's why I'm excited for this season, we're about to find out how good JV, Kyle, T-Ross (remember he scored 51 against the Clippers? Insane!), DeMar, Patterson and Vazquez really are. Those are the 6 who decide the season. Every other guy is a spare part. Amir is a deluxe spare part, but still a spare part all due respect.

Excellent article but long! Thanks!
I am with you .. I find it hard to read long articles on a monitor and will more likely print it out to read it .. Although Raps get more than their fair share of media coverage on Grantland which isn't the norm in U.S sites

I like what I have seen so far from the management in building a team that will work together. Reasonable plan since the chances of signing a 'big 3' is limited.

I would have preferred if they were able to collude with Wiggins and convince him to refuse to report to training camp. Consequently, the Raptors trade Terrence Ross and 2 of their 1st rounders for Andrew Wiggins. I sincerely feel that this is the closest the Raptors will ever get to a player with the potential to be a league MVP.

Wiggins would have no reason to not follow suit with not reporting to Minnesota training camp if the Raptors were going to swoop in with this proposed trade. It sure beats wasting 4 precious years of your career in Minnesota!

I feel bad for Terrence Ross because he could easily be a 20+ points per game player with Minnesota as their starting shooting guard and you know for certain that in the short term the Wolves would look like the winner of this trade which would help their fan base after trading their franchise player, Kevin Love, away.

I think it's all up to my man Drake. Hope he comes through as Raptor Ambassador!

I wouldn't be surprise if there was a mid season trade similar to last year. We have alot of expiring contracts we can dangle.

I just heard Derozan say he's trying to be more "amberdextrious".

Anyone catch the game last night? Man, I was pumped up for that and it's only pre-season. Great to watch the team again and hear Devlin and Jack's banter.

Great crowd in Vancouver, such a shame they lost the Grizzlies.

One thing I'm really excited about when it comes to this team is the fact that we have an all-star point guard running the show for the first time. Damon Stoudemire doesn't count because that was an expansion team.

The Vince years and the Bosh years, we had guys like Alvin Williams, Chris Childs, Jose, TJ Ford, etc, but Kyle is the best point guard in franchise history. So I'm really looking forward to see how far they can grow and build with that solid foundation from such an important position.

No Lowry , No Jonas but no problem with Raps beating the Knicks to go up 3-1 in preseason ..
