As much as I disliked Lindros in the past, I'll still dislike him whether he wears a Leaf uniform or not.

And the "LOL HE'LL BE ON THE DL ON OCT 5TH LOL LOL" statements by the Senators fanboys (believe me, the retards are out in full force...check out some other forums) is just stupid. You can't tell me that nobody wouldn't be excited to see Lindros in their favourite teams jersey. Besides, Lindros is no more of a risk than Peter Forsberg. But Lindros is costing 4 million less. And although both are impact players and can potentially lead their team to the promised land, I think the Leafs did much better because Lindros isn't expected to lead the team like Forsberg is expected to lead the Flyers.

Should I book my hotel room for the parade down Yonge Street now?

Face it, at his prime Lindros was a force. Now, he's a glass jar waiting for the final blow. It's amusing to see how the Leaf fans automatically make him seem like a god because he was signed, but if he had gone elsewhere, you all would have said "good riddance! We don't need a roster position tied up on the disabled list!"

I hope Chara catches him with his head down on October 5th.

The parade I believe will start at the ACC, proceed north on Bay st. up to City Hall for a HUGE Fan love in.

I'm with Kathleen on this one... I've wanted to see him in T.O. as well. The price is right at this point. I hope he can keep his head up...

Hey Dimitri, you can meet him through a charity such as the Make a Wish Foundation. It's a great way for underprivileged kid's like yourself to meet celebrities.

He could tell you a story, or maybe even help you learn to read and write.

Ciao,

I loved Lindros when he was with the Flyers.I hope he has a great year and he is well physically. Im glad he was able to go to Toronto, where he wanted to go several years ago.A very good pick-up for the Leafs.GO ERIC.

Lindros...never liked the guy ...big cry baby

hopefully he'll leave the complaining at home, shut up and play the game .
Technically, by him playing in Toronto, he is home. Even worse, his father will be in the news more complaining like a faggot as usual.

Ciao,

Is that his mothers name? Oh Jesus, I remember when Brett Lindros played for Kingston and she would come along when they came here to play. Oh my, what an annoying bitch to listen to.

So far up front we have:
Mogilny - gone /injury concerns
Nolan - gone/injury concerns
Nieuwendyk - gone
Roberts - gone

O'Neill - in
Lindros - in/injury concerns
Allison - in /injury concerns

So far, not bad. If we get Carter at worst it's a break even, more like a gain. I take Lindros & Allison as a wash with Alex & Owen because of the injuriy issues. O'Neill & Carter definitely are better than Joe & Gary. They are younger and likely faster. Evene if only one of Lindros & Allison pays off then the Leafs will be a lot better, both have enormous upside and are well worth the risk.
On defence we loose Leetch, but only had him for a few games, and picked up Khavanov(sp). Toughto say given Letch's short stay in T.O.

They aren't looking too bad at this point, not in Ottawa's or Philly's class but really no one else in the East is that strong.

Lindros & Thomas

On a one year deal at 1.5m for Lindros, this is a pretty good deal for both sides. If Lindros gets KO'd in the first 15 games (a real possibilty) then who cares? At "only" 1.5m for one year this not going to break the bank. If both Lindros and Allison stay healthy, lots of upside for the Leafs.

IMHO the Leafs should go after Steve Thomas on a one year minimum salary deal. Again, not much to lose , and some good upside.

For some reason I can see Quinn putting Lindros on a line with Antripov and Pornokovsky. Lots of size, but I can just hear Don Cherry ranting that these Russian guys are holding the stud Lindros back (lol). :)
