I was watching the coverage last night. At 1:30 one of the pundits mentioned the upcoming budjet crisis. I would have hoped they would have let it rest for a day at least! Well the 24 hour news cycle marches on.
This could get very interesting for the house GoP. If they continue to block because of the Norquist pledge they may find themselves in deep crap at the midterms.
And it won't be the Tea Party that go but the moderate Republicans.
Hope they actually get something done this time

Hmmmmmmm

and yet you hope the dems do not meet anyone in the middle??

Seems to me that give and take means both parties work together and not one party surrenders to the other.

Actually I think the dems are willing to work with them. The question is whether the GoP and Tea party are also willing to compromise. Cost cutting has to come from everywhere. And they have to increase revenue as well. Which means raises taxes/cutting loopholes. Which means dropping the Norquist pledge. If the dems say yes wee will slash spending, the the GoP give as well.

By the by I'm a Canuck so this is more of an intellectual thing for me.

if you want to increase revenue you increase jobs that pay above minimum wage and scrap the socialized medical.

Employers can not afford higher wages and the draconian plan for healthcare..........yes they can likely afford the plan for the emplyee but not give higher wages too.

That would be nice, but the house is still held by republicans. They will say no to everything, and nothing gets done!
Yeah this. Status quo or arguably the repugs have even less incentive to compromise on anything and in fact will try to cause the country to run over the cliff and blame Obama.

As has been said before a few times, but you love flogging dead horses, first and foremost, his administration turned an economy around with little help from the Republicans, and got it going in the right direction. Remember the long dead acclamation of the Republicans, are you better now than you were 4 years ago'. Didn't hear that much late the campaign because it was shown the answer was a resounding 'yes' and it blew up in their face. They stopped yelling it.

you seem to have a lot to say until a question is asked
Say what? I guess you haven't been reading the other threads or my last post right after the election last night. i just didn't spend last night giving minute to minute commentary during the counting.

PS, please get more sleep.

I noticed you didn't tell us who's in the middle.
