And tell me...

I would not get into a specific percentage of numbers, because I forgot what was on CNN. I remember that some amount of black people voted Obama because he is black. Not all of them (according to CNN).

...how would CNN know that?

They walked up to people and asked "did you vote for Barrack Obama?", and after receiving and affirmative response, followed that with "did you vote for him because he is Black?"

Yeah. That happened.

I thought the same thing as well when I heard it on CNN. I don't know how they did it.
You probably can find the copy on youtube.

This thread is 100% irrelevant.

I have to say, in all the discussion with my friends about who we were going to vote for and why (I'd say pretty evenly split) no one ever brought up the topic of race - not once. You'll have to trust me that this isn't a group that would have ANY tendency toward political correctness, all topics, rude or otherwise were on the table. No one ever even mentioned it.

I think 80-90% of people are finally over it, no one really cares. Either the guy is smart and ethical or he's not.

I like to say that I'm homo-apathetic, I just don't give a shit. I think most Americans see beyond skin color and are becoming race-apathetic.

Now, if the first black POTUS could bring up issues in the black community that no white person would dare bring up:

- 66% of black children are born to unwed parents
- black men go to prison in higher percentages than collage

as sources for the horrendous conditions that many black people find themselves in, that would be a tremendous CHANGE from the culture of victimhood.

Of course, I didn't mention that his dad was a 50 year old white British plantation overseer (who was actually born in Jamaica) and his mum an 18 year old black girl... when he was born.
I can't possibly walk in Marely's shoes. However in interest of clarification. His father was a Officer in the Royal Marines not the Royal Navy. The Marely's were married and he provided for his family but was frequently absent due to business. Bob Marley's father died from a heart attack when he was but ten years old.

I would only think that your family relationships whether one or both parents raise you, how your peers treat you as a child must have a great deal to do with self identity.
