Nude Rugby

Anybody here play or used to play rugby? Do you guys wear any paddings? I just discovered there is a rugby team that plays in the nude :Eeksorry, all male). They don't even wear a protective cup.

It's all about hitting the showers after the game.

I saw a CTV news clip of appropriately dressed New Zealand rugby players doing the haka.

So, I Googled New Zealand rugby players and saw this awful video of naked male rugby players doing the haka. I can't erase that awful image from my mind.

No padding except a mouth guard. No one I knew wore a cup in football either.

And there are tourneys that (used to?) have coed naked games at night.

Mouth guards, jockstraps, and some type of protection to stop the ears being rubbed raw in the scrum for some positions. That used to be it; but now they are allowed to use soft padding on the upper body, if they choose.

Never followed rubgy. All I see is footage on TSN once a year... usually some kind tourney recap.

Same here. I've seen the occasional video clips on TV Sports News but never played the game and don't understand or want to understand the rules. I got interested this time because I saw on TV the New Zealand players performing the haka which I thought was really neat. Apparently, the indigenous people of New Zealand performed the haka before going into battle.

Wonders never cease. Now I find out that the all male nude team was joined by a 21 year old woman for one of their games. Apparently, one of the male members (no pun intended) was unable to perform (again no pun intended) and the woman was asked, and agreed, to fill in (once again no pun intended) for him.

when I saw this thread I thought I read nude female rugby
