cowboy i thought we had lost you, have was the west coast and anything new with our friend. valentino and the lido were my two favs. i usually find strip clubs boring, but valentinos was always rocking and the girls were usually hot but trampy looking with those 80 hair dues. i am getting a rock just thinking of them. all strip clubs should have dancer hotels right above them. i could listen to stories from former emplyees about this place all day.
give us a few choice stories

Nothing new with our freind for now, it's on the back burner for the time being. Hey Mustang we may have crossed path's back then and not even known it!

I worked the Llido a couple of times as well, back then Frank owned them all so sometimes we'd work other clubs. Most of my fondest memorries were from my years at Fanny's on Bank Street it was definately rockin. Valentinos was pretty crazy too. We had these twins work there for a couple of weeks, man they were quite the partiers! I think they were originaly from Windsor, any one else remember them ? Dirty Blondes, medium build with great tits. My favorite Dancer to work with back then was Robin, realy well tanned long blond hair muscular thighs b sized breast and the smoothest skin and the hottest shows, she really danced and worked up a sweat.

The "other" stories are fogged up by booze and other substances. Sufice it to say, who could ask for a better job I was young outta school and livin' life to it's fullest.

I remember the day Valentinos burned down. My girlfriend woke me up at 7 in the morning to see pictures of the smoke on CJOH durring the newsbreak, I think shed a tear, a tear of joy for all the fond memmories.

It was a bit of a nice afternoon hole to hang at. It all seems like a dream now.
Awhhhh Westboro I liked it much better when it was low key and a lil more trashy!!
I cant stand it today, its full of yuppies and all kinds BS fancy shops and never a parking spot for miles!!!!

cowboy we must have. did you work the door also. i also reaaly liked fanny's on bank. a few of the ladies would go up stairs a play pool with you after the shift if they liked you. i remember tiffany working there and a few of her friends. heard some good and not so good things about her. the only bad thing about this place was a valentinos and lido the girls were very liberal and
a little more relaxed and ready to have fun

i think we used to go there in grade 13 for lunch. wasn't it usually this really thin ungly oriental girl dancing no matter when you went. also that time was the always beautiful lido on the strip in hull some fun girls there also. the clubs aren't the same now days

i remember the smoke girl bu tno the ping pong girl. do you remember the red head who wore the eye patch. would see her sometimes at shalamarz across from helium. she never had the patch on there

Used to hang at Lido, Habba's, Valentino's, Fanny's.

Yeah I always thought that was a riot too...that bit about the parking lot at Habba's and church.

Used to hang at Fanny's so much they gave me member's card so I didn't have to pay cover...lol

There was also that other place that they tried out for a bit that was next door to Fanny's where you went upstairs and the girls were all in evening gowns and they had nice padded leather sofa chairs...was that called Barbarellas? Can't recall...but it didn't last long...~6 months maybe? I really liked it and the atmosphere but it obvisouly didn't catch on...

What about...anyone remember the club out Manotick way...Gypsy Rose. I believe it was Lucifer's before that if memory serves. That was the only time I've ever been in or heard of a Country Music strip club... lol

When I was new to the area a friend of mine got some bad advice .... was told that there was a SC in Manawaki where amazing things would happen so we took a drive..... that was another country music SC for ya if you get the urge *lol*

btw, it was a dive, there were 2 girls who weren't terrible, maybe 5 or 6 for looks ...... the one who seemed inclined to go above and beyond had her period and the other one (blonde) was so busy we couldn't get near her .... funny enough I ran into the blonde at Taboo a few months later (yeah, I like the seedier places at times) and got ecxellent mileage

this was a few years back so don't bother asking who cuz I don't remember and haven't seen em in years! *g*

And after Fanny's ...

Of course, after a couple of drinks at the old Fanny's, what's a guy to do but wander up Bank Street a few blocks to .... Cheeks! It was at Bank and Sunnyside. All the dancing was at the tables until somebody came up with the idea of building a little shack right in the Club to act as a champagne room. After it closed some of the girls moved across the river to Club 61!

Remember the cattle call at some clubs when all the girls would go up the stage and parade around? Apparently that still happens at the Mate Wednesdays am.

I strongly suspect that the whole Showcase thing might have been carried over to Barbs when they got a hold of Barefax's old DJ ( think they do it every night there too now ). Guess since its good for 2 joint, maybe its good for all Ottawa bars ?

I'd like to think I started that trend when I was DJ'n at Valentinos, right after the renovations we did the showcase thing with free table dances to as Slurp says "class up" the joint. We do a real long song on stage with all the girls parading around, followed by what was always a full yet short song for the "free taste" dance, sorry guys to jip you but you deal with 15-20 dancers who hated to the the whole thing from stage to the free dance. The short song was the best way to comprimise, many of the girls didn't understand the drug pusher theory of this technique, give 'em a taste for free and make them pay for the rest.

I also can recall Rick's place before it was Cheek's it was a rough place on all fronts, decor, smell, clientele, dancers, fun for a pint though after a football game or after returning my library books, Another City of Ottawa Zoning wonder, a strip joint 4 doors down from a City Library branch!
