In a way I don't blame them. They have no businesses to operate and no jobs to go to so they have time on their hand to protest. I remember it was the same during the Great Depression.

Wet but happy as they once again gather to defy the stupid lockdown orders

Freedom IS essential. Having to wear a mask is not an assault on freedom.

It looks like they could only get a couple of hundred stupid people out of a population of 6M to walk around with no masks to protest rational measures.

I usually stay inside when it’s raining.

But these people have principles. To bad those principles work against public health and the shortening of the impact of the virus.

6M people in the GTA and I don't think that were enough to fill in one section of the Rogers centre.

The lack of participation show's the support in the protest...

I saw the protest on the Danforth yesterday. The protesters were holding placards showing how long they have been in business and how many people's livelihoods and jobs are at stake. They seem like hard working law abiding people.

As a son of hardworking law abiding immigrant parents I feel their pain.

Both of them?

I hope when this is all over their patience will be rewarded.

At the 38 second point of the clip, the dude really needs to be careful. If anyone is high risk due to age and weight from not surviving COVID, he's the poster child. Beejay, if you know him personally, perhaps you've sold him a used car or a house in a rough part of the city. Maybe you can suggest joining a gym or a diet plan if he's going to be out in the rain and flout the COVID guidelines. I'm not knocking over weight or older folks but if one is in either of those categories, they have to be just a little bit more careful.

Freedom is essential

There is no "lockdown" that infringes on personal "freedom". Anyone can walk around, drive around all they want.

There is no right or "freedom" to operate a business. The opportunity to operate a business comes with the obligation to abide by laws, rules etc.

Especially rules related to public health.

Just because you in your infinite internet wisdom believe there is no public health risk from COVID, does not make it so.

I imagine that you would not be happy if some brown skinned scofflaw refugees started selling unlicensed camel piss in unwashed donkey scrotums outside of schoolyards.
