1) do you need a college diploma to get into NDT

2) where in southern ontario offers it

3) do you recommend it

Just had some pics of a vessel takin.The guy showed up with a young assistant,female.My guess is she was between classes and was on a placement with this company.I cannot remember the name of company,but can find out next week.
I would imagine you can go to school for this,but the jobs are probally rare?

Non Destructive Testing

If I remember correctly, Mohawk College offers a number of courses. Good tickets to have are in Ultrasonics and Eddy Current. Prospects are good especially if you are willing to be exposed to gamma radiation.

Not necessarily but you need Canadian Government certifications for which the pre-requisite may be college or CSNDT Institute courses. The best way would be to start with Canadian General Stanards Board at: http://www.pwgsc.gc.ca/cgsb/home/index-e.html

Also, you could contact Canadian Institute for NDE, their site is at: http://www.csndt.org/

or you could contact Durham College. I believe they have a diploma program.

Please be advised that NDE (NDT) is hands on blue collor job which can be physically demanding and hazardous to your health (exposure to X or Gamma radiation, or toxic chemicals etc.)
