Curt Shilling missed and so does the PED guys...
Curt is cranky....

"I will not participate in the (my) final year of voting.
I am requesting to be removed from the ballot.
I'll defer to the Veterans Committee and men whose opinions truly matter."

*A number of years ago, Marvin Miller requested to be removed from consideration.

*The Hall of Fame election committee left him on the ballot.

Schilling is all class.

Maybe if he'd bled on the mound more he'd be in.

On a personal level, I know him best from ESPN baseball broadcasts when he worked with John Kruk and Dan Shulman. I felt bad for Dan, an eloquent professional broadcaster having to work with two dumb jock mental midgets like Schilling and Kruk. It must have been torture for him.

That’s easy to start...Bonds and Clemens, Pete Rose is right there...and for you historians, Shoeless Joe Jackson.
For the longest time, Jack Morris was famous for being best player not in HOF. His 3.90 ERA is kind of high for a HOFer.

I did not even know this stuff, but it doesn't surprise me.

The retired baseball player is likely referring to criticisms of his behavior on social media where he has attacked groups such as Muslims and transgender people. Schilling once tweeted a photo comparing Muslims to Nazis. His anti-trans comments online led to him being fired as an analyst from ESPN.

A day after the deadly Capitol breach on Jan. 6, Schilling posted several tweets appearing to defend the rioters. The Globe points to one incident in which Schilling commented, “Ok, so much awesome here” on a photo of a Trump supporter sporting a t-shirt that read “Rope. Tree. Journalist. Some assembly required.”

I think this is a great way to keep the HOF more exclusive and elite. Unlike the Hockey Hall of Fame, who seem to induct lower calibre players on a yearly basis.

Mid 2000's, Albert Pujols Jr, about 4 years old at the time, was in the National League locker room at the All Star game. When he saw Scott Rolen, he said "What are YOU doing here?".
Had Scott Rolen given the young lad an honest answer, he may have replied: "Being a great player."

Cute story but meaningless in terms of evaluating SR's career.

When I was a kid, I loved to watch Billy Pierce pitch for the Chisox whenever they played the Tigers on Saturday afternoon tv with Ernie Harwell and George Kell announcing. Pierce, a Detroit native, pitched well and consistently for the Chisox for many years. For a fairly crummy team, he had a couple of twenty game seasons, won over 200 games and had a respectable ERA of 3.27 ,he was never flashy or a big mouth, a gentleman of a player.
Compared to several pitchers already in the Hall of Fame, his results were about equal or better, for example, Waite Hoyt, Jim Bunning, Dizzy Dean, Lefty Gomez, et al.
When he was eligible, he received less than 2% support for the initial five years. Still, I wonder why he isn't in the Hall of Fame.
For Blue Jays fans, two names cry out, Fred McGriff and Carlos Delgado. There is no reason why these guys aren't in the Hall. If they had hit just a few more homers to tally 500, they would have been shoo-ins.
