No surprise. Less and less information being made public. Future press releases will probably simply say:

A human will was murdered last night in a shooting at a strip mall. The suspect is another human.

A human was sexually assaulted in a park yesterday. The suspect is another human.

For identification-the police are always asking the public for witnesses to come forward.

I think the police and society are sensitive (overly sensitive?) to releasing information that is consider politically incorrect. For example, police stopped releasing info about the race of suspects/criminals because society considered it racist.

Now the OPP will stop releasing info about gender maybe because most(?) suspects/criminals are male. Or, maybe the police simply might not know their gender as some males consider themselves females and vice versa.

It would be simpler in the future to say that a human was murdered last night in a town in southern Ontario and the suspect is another human. Maybe this would be more socially acceptable with no identifying info.
