Hello,

I'm looking for a nice hotel for this coming Saturday but would like one that does not require for the lady to speak with the front desk in the lobby to get to the room.

I've been in hotels where you need a keycard to get into the elevator or hallways to get access to the rooms. I'm looking for a hotel that does not require that. I think that's more discreet and I prefer it that way to tell ya the truth.

I've been to the Kingsway many times (which is great for the hobby) and was thinking of trying something different this time around. Something a little nicer like the Marriott, Sheraton, etc. The DoubleTree looks kinda nice, but not sure if a person could just walk up to the room or if a keycard is required.

Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The fundamental attraction ...

for the Kingsway, Arkona, etc. is anonymity, I. E. no paper trail. You are not going to get that at any of the more fancy places - just saying!

I have stayed at the Sheraton and Marriott on Fallsview dr...both do not need a key to come up to your room. Both hotels seem very SP friendly too.

Walked my "date" out to her ride last summer at the Marriott right out in front, went right back inside back to my room and glanced at the front desk, nobody seem to notice me.

The Sheraton seems to mind their own business too, never had any problems at either hotel and I had afternoon, evening and late night dates....would like mornings too but it seems hard to find somebody at 9am in the Falls...that is where Toronto shines.

Book off Hotwire, you save alot. I would stay at any nice hotel in the Falls. You do need a credit card thou.

At the range!!!
I usually stay at the Hilton...no key needed. Another plus at this time of year is the closed in bridge to the casino.

I agree with Joe, I always stay at the Marriott, great winter rates right now too. They pay no attention, once in while you get wished a nice evening with a smile and that comes from the young decent looking front desk girls!!

So I decided on which hotel to stay at last weekend. Got a great recommendation.

Ended up at the Clarion. Great place. However, I'm not sure if it's still called the Clarion as the Bill says Falls Plaza Hotel on it. The room was nice with plenty of space. Clean and the bed has lotsa pillows. The greatest part is there is a back entrance which doesn't require a keycard to enter. So that means your visitors don't have to walk through the main lobby at the front to get to your room. There's a pool which is open 24 hours that I didn't take advantage of. Pool is right at main entrance though. Kinda weird place to put it as there's no privacy there. During the summer months, I'm sure walking to the falls and casinos isn't a problem. Probably a little chilly for that this time of year though.

I have to say I very much enjoyed the Clarion. Off season rate was quite reasonable too. $99 for the night.

My one complaint would have to be the parking. By 7pm the parking lot was getting full. There wasn't a single available parking space there when I checked at 9pm. They did have overflow parking across the street at some motel, but if I'm going to pay an additional $9 for parking, it would be nice to be gauranteed a parking spot in the Clarion lot.

I know you've come and gone, but I thought I could add to this.
Most if not all the hotels require keycards for side enterances in the Falls area. The only one I know of that you can enter in through the side, without being noticed (I don't recall passing front desk), is the Sheraton Fallsview at the end of Fallsview Blvd. The parking lot is quite large and the side entrance does not require a key card. Otherwise, all the other hotels, I just park my car, walk in through the front door, don't make eye contact with the front desk and make it like I know where I'm going. If I can't find the elevators, as these large upscale hotels are usually "north tower and south tower", I do ask someone. If they ask me what room I'm going to, I tell them... cause they're watching from the security cameras anyway. Once I'm behind that closed door, what happens behind that closed hotel room door is between me and my client. They're not dumb, I'm sure they know what's going on, but they're not going to try to upset anyone either. We're not rock stars out to trash the joint, so they have nothing to complain about... we're PSE... hehehe... that's different...

The reason the Clarion was so full is that it is the big hockey tournament hotel in NF where most of the teams stay. The big NF NY tournament was being held this past weekend.
