Doug Ford.

It's a no brainer.

Liberals federal level apparently took all of the 416 & 905.

Who wins the GTA wins the federal election. Rob Ford and his brother much more popular in 905 area than 416.

Yeah mon!

Doug Ford does not speak French.

Peter McKay does not need a seat to run.

The only guy I would like to see in politics is Mark Carney but I believe he is a liberal. (And he has a pretty sweet job right now)

While by preference is Brad Wall as well he has ruled it out at this point.

But a fresh face is crucial at this point. Who ever it is can run in a by election in Harper's riding and win the seat.

Come on. Parliamentary debate between you and franky would really help CPAC's ratings.
That would hardly be a debate
he believes if it can be found on the internet it is factual.
His behaviour & the shit he was posting leading up to the election was absolutely shameful

The PC party should take its time
Justin ran a very efficient campaign & did not stick his foot in his mouth as expected

Running a government is a whole different challenge.
We are stuck with him for the next 4 years, so it would be best if the PCs appoint an interim leader to fill the role of opposition and carefully set themselves up to find the guy /gal to win in 2019/ 2020

McKay does not technically need a seat to run, but "couldn't even win his own seat, how can he lead us through an election" will count against him and someone else will get the nomination.

I predict Kenney, unless they get a star candidate from outside politics.

Shameful?
Really, that's amusing on an escort review board.

Whatever floats your boat, maybe you should take up the post larue, obviously you think you're qualified.

Ok, let the speculation begin.

Who will be the next PC leader?
What PC? They haven't existed since 2003... when MacKay sold them out and joined the Canadian Alliance... I will never forgive him for this because he had promised David Orchard that he would never join the Canadian Alliance and he did.

How about Peter Mackay or Joy Smith.
What? Peter MacKay... I wouldn't vote for him even if someone paid me... (not that I really would... I'm not a Con) he sold the PC's to the CA back in 2003 when he promised David Orchard that he wouldn't in 2001 or 2002. Joy Smith could possibly be... oh, now that I've read the thread a bit more I see you were actually kidding... :)

Seriously though, how about Lisa Raitt?.. she was actually asked and she avoided the question... like they all do...

Not a bad choice unless he is tarred as part of the Harper group. It is also rumored he is gay which is a huge advantage in Canada's hyper politically correct climate, just ask Kathleen Wynne.

John Baird
Too much of an image as a loud mouth. He makes a good attack dog sidekick, but if the T's run him against Trudeau, Trudeau will make him look mentally unbalanced.

The winner is going to have to be somebody who can reach out to the center and woo voters who may not be historically Tory voters.

Which is why I think Kenney, he has shown a surprising knack for reaching out to other communities, such as when he put on a turban to show solidarity with Sikhs.

If it is not Kenney I lay odds on some outsider not currently on any list, some sort of star candidate probably currently CEO of some big firm.

Wonder if Patrick Brown will jump back into federal politics? He is young, good looking, fluently bilingual, from Northern Ontario and some suspect he is gay. I would love to see him go toe to toe with Trudeau.

Or, maybe Christine Elliott?

The Tories will always get their 30%-32% which is their base. They need the extra 5%-7% to put them in majority territory. They need to change the image that their base is a bunch of angry old white men with guns.
