New to hobbying

Hi im relativly new to hobbying and wanted some prespective on providers and hygene.

I get nervous about catching and sti/std that being said it not enough to stop me, ive seen maybe 4 providers and i tend to go with more expensive upscale for the fact i believe there is less of a chance of getting a sti/std, would you agree or disagree and why ?


Have you ever got one from a provider ? If so please leave the name out, the intent is to not bash any providers.

I think concerns about getting STD's is way overblown in general. The worst I've gotten in over 10 years in the hobby is a case of the crabs. Even that's now rare these days, as most girls are either full bald or heavily trimmed down there (do love those trimmed bushes!). It doesn't matter if they are expensive high-end girls or more economical girls, they are all clean. Getting tested is free in Canada, so these girls all get themselves tested regularly, if not for concerns for the guys, at least for concerns for themselves.

Go with the established providers, avoid the "party girls" (code for drugs) and anyone offering unsafe services. It's never completely without risk, but you can reduce the odds.

I used to be extremely paranoid about STI's. But, I think the vast majority of the providers in Ottawa are quite cautious about what they do. Most of the STI's I've heard about tend to occur with people outside the industry using tinder or picking up in a club, or lifestyle event where they get caught up in the moment. With SW, very rarely are they caught up in the moment. (no, i dont have statistics to back this up)

Ron Jeremy once said, the only time he ever caught an STI was a time he picked a woman up in a bar.

Just dont try to push the limits. And get yourself tested every once in a while as well. You can go the free route, or there are a few online options where they ship you the package, and you test yourself.

The recommendation you posted doesn't actually serve any purpose, other than giving you ignorance-based peace of mind.

There are STIs that don't show outward symptoms in certain people, or show symptoms that wax and wane.

Your doctrine is also indirectly racist, since you're making an unscientific association between paleness -- a quality which only white people can evince -- and cleanliness, which is a centuries-old canard. See who you want, but don't spread misinformation about sexual health. And don't fool yourself into thinking you're "screening for health" when 60+% of your posts and a tag you went out of your way to make appear on every one of your posts include some reference to paleness. You have a weird obsession with skin colour, not a secret trick for gauging sexual health.

I once had an SP slip it in without protection, (no names, long since retired, not my idea). freaked me out, been tested many times since, but the point is she claimed I looked clean. there was no cotton swab up my urethra, no blood test, no waiting for 6 weeks for results. Just her saying I looked clean. yes, looking at clean genitals is better than nothing I guess... but not valid whatsoever for vetting sti’s.

To the OP, this question has come up a bunch of times over the years. I'm always surprised that people come on here for medical/health related advice as if the experiences of the few people who respond are at all an indication of anything you can count on. I suggest you rely more on your own research and common sense, and less on review board advice, to make decisions on this topic (well, any topic really).

One other point - sorry to be a downer I guess, but what happened in the past is not a good indicator of the future. STI rates in Ottawa (and Canada) have been consistently climbing for years and have shown some pretty dramatic increases. Now and moving forward is a very different situation than 5-10 years ago.

I believe someone posted something like this before and I'd say it isn't a bad rule to live by: If you aren't comfortable, don't do it. If you do, make sure you can live with the worst case scenario.
